When I saw the German "Haunebu" saucer, I thought it was the same as this thing I built as a kid. But, apparently that is not so?

No, it's this thing:

Excellent quote! thanks for the chuckle Brett

Also, thanks for sharing the info you have to quiet the nay-sayers. it's good to have some positive Revell info after so much darkness, useless conjecture and nay-saying

To be fair we were just as in the dark as everybody up until about a week ago.  Revell and Estes Rockets were really the two lone bright spots in the Hobbico empire and Estes was back up and running under new ownership very quickly so everybody figured the same would happen with Revell but it has taken a lot longer than I think anybody expected.

I dunno I thought the guidance "we" all got was 90 days or so after the sale was finalized.  A lot of people seem to think the sale was *poof* over the day of the auction, but it didn't close until mid-May, and under the terms they didn't have to hand over the keys to the domains until the end of June.  Right now we're 92 days after the sales closed, and kits are supposed to start arriving next month.  Impatient sure, but seems right on schedule.

Someone shared this post on a club Facebook page. I don't know any more about it.
Hopefully, they are preparing to use molding machines here in the US for kits.

Has Mr. Scruggs shared any updates on what the facility he posted the image of is producing?

Good news here. All of it. Thanks everyone for the updates.

The new tool ‘70 Charger RT is conspicuously absent from the Fall release list. Hopefully that one comes back; maybe as a 2n1 with Dom’s fast and furious parts?

Good to hear some (Ed Sexton, perhaps?) of the former Revell employees are still in the loop, so to speak. :)

That would be the best news we've heard since this whole thing started ! :)

It is being reported on Facebook that Atlantis has purchased Revell moulds.  James, Niteowl7710, any further info?

I don't know anything beyond the press release and I'm trying to figure out how they magically transported stuff that is clearly in Illinois and belongs to Blitz to NY.

Under what name would they release this stuff since Blitz owns all the trade dress and relevant trademarks for everything including the Renwal naming...

Unless they sold all the U.S. based tooling out the back door and are only keeping the modern...I need more information this makes no sense.

Atlantis did release the Monogram/Aurora large scale T-Rex under their name plus some other Aurora subjects but I believe Monogram ran it for them, interesting...

The only thing I can figure - short of Blitz decided to just offload the U.S. tooling bank after examining it, is there is some portion it the tooling that is so old and out or "date" as it were that it wasn't considered to be part of the tooling "family" that was included in the sale.

There's certainly no bankruptcy court documentation that I saw that shows a specific direct sale of an any asset from Hobbico to Atlantis.

LOOKS LIKE BLITZ DUMPED, I MEAN SOLD ALL THE OLD RENWAL, REVELL- STUFF FROM VENICE, CALIFORNIA, MONOGRAM- OLD 50'S AND 60'S STUFF, AND AURORA MOLDS , AND JUST KEPT THE "NEW" REVELL STUFF FROM THE 1990'S ON???? SOMEONE CONTACT ED SEXTON TO CONFIRM THIS?  THE CURRENT BLITZ /REVELL MODEL LIST DOESN'T SHOW ANY OLD REVELL RELEASES FROM THE 1960"S DOES IT??? I TAKE THAT BACK ICE PATROL IS AND OLD REVELL MOLD FROM THE 70"S!

Blitzvell is retaining the U.S. based tooling that's relevant to modern Revell operations. The stuff Atlantis has purchased is the old Aurora tooling (what's left after a chunk was jettisoned out of a train and competing products were melted for scrap by Monogram), and all the Sub Basement 2 ancient 50s tooling, a good chunk of which sounds like it's SciFi and figures - which is what Atlantis has dabbled with since they opened.

The only two automotive kits they've ever issued are the two old Merit Grand Prix kits.

Maybe it's the old tooling Revell had acquired from Aurora and Renwal in the past.  That tooling was in the US, wasn't it?

Yes, as well as some Monogram and Revell molds which were only sporadically (1/24 Datsun 4x4 pickup, Dodge Ramcharger, etc.) or never re-issued. Sounds like they purchased whatever wasn't already at the molding facility in China and (maybe?) whatever Blitz picked out and kept, if anything.

Unlike some here with jaded eyes when it comes to Aurora's old kits, I wish Pete and Rick nothing but the best. There can be a real treasure trove of long unavailable models coming down the pike.

I'm sure the irony of some (potential) Aurora molds returning to Long Island wasn't lost on you. :)

This is from 2016, but worth the read anyway:

http://www.atlantis-models.com/about-us.aspx

"Next on the list was the licensed Zorro figure on his horse Tornado. We had always enjoyed figure building and tracked down the original tooling. After some freshening up and securing the original box-art with Mort Kunstler it hit the shelves.

Thru our new relationship with Revell-Monogram on the Zorro project, we had the chance to re-issue the Giant T-Rex kit from the Prehistoric Scenes Series. This series was a big hit for the Aurora Model Co. back in the 70s and the T-rex had been re-issued several times in the past (under the Monogram label). Thru an arrangement with Dencomm Productions, we were able to use the Prehistoric Scenes name. "

Who knows, maybe this means the Aurora Maserati 3500GT will come back?

I suspect that has quite a bit to do with how much Maserati wants to license the kit...
