Dale Gribble Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 These were made 90-92 . There were only 2 kits released in the Ultimates line . This and a cobra . These were full detail kits with engines and PE parts included . Follow along as I build the 67 vette ..... I already sanded the mold lines and primed the body at this point . Check out the molded open handles !
cobraman Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 I built that kit and several of the Cobra. They are great little kits and look great when finished. I wish they would have sold better and they kept the series going with more kits,
bamadon Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 That kit looks great. As the former owner of a 67 Vette I'll be following this.
vamach1 Posted August 7, 2018 Posted August 7, 2018 Hands down most detailed and very reasonably priced 1/43 two kits ever made. Too bad people thought they were too small.
Dale Gribble Posted August 9, 2018 Author Posted August 9, 2018 The PE for the dash is a nice touch ...
ewetwo Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 Coming along very nicely. I have this kit but it’s missing 2 or 3 parts. The windshield frame for one.

MrObsessive Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 I have this and the Cobra but for whatever reason have never touched 'em. Like others have said, it's too bad Revell never saw fit to reissue these and come out with other cars. The U.S. sadly doesn't have as big a market for 1/43 as does Europe and Asia. Like it or not, there is a LOT more variety in the type of cars/kits one can get in 1/43 than anything else. No doubt because they are small and don't suck up as much space.
GerN Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 These are great kits! I've built the Cobra and have the Vette, unstarted. The U.S. market for scale autos has sadly shifted to 1/18 die casts, it seems to me.
drodg Posted August 9, 2018 Posted August 9, 2018 That Vette looks really good. I for years built 1/43 scale kits some resin and some white metal out of Europe. I always enjoyed building them and still look at Grand Prix Models' out of England sight. I have a ton of non built resin kits, mostly race cars that I have never built. I am excited to see you finish this build.
Dale Gribble Posted August 10, 2018 Author Posted August 10, 2018 Finished the dash and flocked the interior tonight ...
Dale Gribble Posted August 10, 2018 Author Posted August 10, 2018 Painted up the wheels today , and finished up the interior ... started putting the PE on the body as well
Belugawrx Posted August 10, 2018 Posted August 10, 2018 (edited) Nice paint Dale ! That p/e must be miniscule, that Testors paint bottle looks Gienormous!!! lol Well done so far, (you might try embossing powder for carpeting, on your next 1/43) Cheers Edited August 10, 2018 by Belugawrx
James2 Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 I've been stalking eBay ever since seeing this...
Flat32 Posted August 11, 2018 Posted August 11, 2018 That dash is so incredibly detailed for that scale I have to ask how you did it. Even if it is PE with decal gage faces it is hard to imagine those fingers of your's getting it done so perfectly.

I painted the PE faces and then lightly sanded them with 1500 to remove the highlights. It’s not 100% correct as the center of the glove box should be completely silver , I may or may not correct that. I used regular CA adhesive to stick the PE parts on .
