Sven found one!

I've seen that one before. Isn't that cool? I love the Petty Turbine/Nascar Car and matching Daytona Transport done up like that. And Sven's models are all that nice. He has done several other cool and beautiful concepts over the years. I've drooled over his work on his website more than a few times.

I agree wholeheartedly here, what a beauty!

So, did this thing actually exist in 1:1?

I see they reissued this. Is the OHC engine in there the Pontiac one or a figment of someone's imagination?

It's the MPC '67 1/2 to '69 Firebird kit Pontiac OHC Six mated to the Oldsmobile Toronado kit transaxle.....TIM

How tuff is that kit to build?

I doubt it is that tough to put together. The parts count is fairly low. I bought one when it was re-issued thinking it would make a cool transporter for something interesting, but it's 1:1 engineering is quite weak and as a 1:1 concept it is unfeasible. I don't have sufficient interest in the kit to correct the engineering (which would likely require converting to conventional steering) so it's in my 'For Sale' pile, now.

I built one back when I was kid, the Ramchargers issue, and it was fairly easy to assemble. Lots of cool stuff fits in the back!

I have purchased an original issue a few years ago, and it also included an insert of the bottom of the engine so you didn't have to put the engine in it.
