tmb727
Revell Europe 1953 Corvette. I thought it was a pretty challenging little kit. Gluing the glass into the frame, painting the dash top which was molded as part of the body, fitting the headlights into the body shell, and getting everything to line up because the chassis frame was warped were just a few of the areas where things almost went off the rails. So I'm glad that it came out looking as nice as it does. I'm especially pleased with the dash decals and the engine carbs. The kit decals are very nice and they eventually settled with some coaxing from Solvaset. Really makes that white dash pop, especially on a convertible. The carbs were a single chrome piece which I stripped and painted in the more proper silver, gold, and engine blue colors. One of those happy moments where I wasn't sure how it would go and the part came out looking great which gives a much more correct look to the engine. Exterior Paint: Several coats of Tamiya fine white surface primer followed by several coats of Tamiya TS-26 Pure White followed by a couple coats of Tamiya TS-7 Racing White. Cleared with Tamiya TS-13 followed by the usual wet sanding and polishing. Interior Paint: Tamiya TS-8 Italian Red decanted and shot through the airbrush. Here she is. Thanks for looking. And for when it gets chilly, you can always put the top up...

BigTallDad
Very crisp and nicely done. Is that the battery that came with the kit? It's a 12 volt and GM used 6 volt until 1955.

The kit did come with red wheel decals, but unfortunately, that was one area where things DID go off the rails. I wound up applying some of the red interior paint to the wheels with a microbrush. Probably would never have known to do that were it not for the kit decals. 2 hours ago, BigTallDad said: Very crisp and nicely done. Is that the battery that came with the kit? The floor pan is Model Car World "red oxide primer" shot through the airbrush. Although probably not accurate from the factory, I wanted to take advantage of the fact that the frame was a separate piece to add some visual contrast underneath rather than having everything black.
