Chuck Most Posted October 19, 2018 Posted October 19, 2018 This project began many years ago, and stalled out for quite some time. It began with a '20's Oldsmobile chassis (Beverly Hillbillies kit) set up on some Radir mags and wide whites. A chopped '41 Chevy cab from Jimmy Flintstone and a '36 Ford truck grille from Drag City casting were also used, along with a homemade bed. I had originally planned for the rod to be powered by a straight eight, but I figured if a straight eight would fit, so would a V16. It wasn't quite as straightforward as I'd have wanted, but the '31 Cadillac mill slid into the frame with a little work. Some Replicas and Miniatures Stromberg carbs were installed. 1
landman Posted October 19, 2018 Posted October 19, 2018 I love those "Thinking outside the box" designs. Well done.
89AKurt Posted October 19, 2018 Posted October 19, 2018 Though I don't build hot rods, I really like this! I could get one of Cadillac kits with the V16, now I'm more tempted.
Goose1957 Posted October 19, 2018 Posted October 19, 2018 Cool! The v-16 was definitely the way to go. I like the 50's style fins on the back too. Nice build. Jeff
Gerald Haney Posted October 20, 2018 Posted October 20, 2018 Wow. That’s something you don’t see everyday. Love the big wide whites. Excellent looking! ??
Koellefornia Kid Posted October 20, 2018 Posted October 20, 2018 The V-16 was a great idea! Looks good!
TarheelRick Posted October 20, 2018 Posted October 20, 2018 Way cool early 50's style show rod before "show rods" got out of hand.
espo Posted October 20, 2018 Posted October 20, 2018 Very interesting concept. I like the way you detailed the engine.
Mercuryman54 Posted October 21, 2018 Posted October 21, 2018 Outstanding!!! Looks great Chuck. Dennis
slusher Posted October 23, 2018 Posted October 23, 2018 Wow Chuck, fantastic custom! Love it especially the engine and wheel and tires!
ewetwo Posted October 23, 2018 Posted October 23, 2018 Awesome. Something Cruella Deville's husband might drive.
