Too bad I don't have this anymore

Direct Connection made a V-8 crossmember for the K-Car based cars at one time;)

That has MOPAR MUSCLE written all over it. FixItAgainTony is letting Dodge do its own thing.

Now more than ever, we need a new tool, full detail Hellcar Challenger, even if just for the powertrain.

Three or four different factory stock variants could probably be offered from the same tool (Hellcat, Hellcat Widebody, Hellcat Demon, maybe an R/T Scat Pack 1320?), by tooling up different hoods, tires, wheels, fender flares, & interior bits, which could make their way to many other builds.

And the Hellcat Redeye... (Hellcat Widebody w/ Demon engine and different hood).   And a regular '15+ SRT 392 would be nice also.

Yeah, really! I have lost track of all of the Challenger variants that are offered, but it seems to me that one basic tool could yield at least 3 or 4 variants- which seems to be all but required of new model kit tools these days to justify the effort.

The Hellcat engine, at a minimum, should be available in scale. There is one in resin available, but I'd like to see an entire full detail plastic kit, as I think the subject is easily worthy of it.

Yes, really surprised there are no kits of the '15+ Challenger available.  I have a couple resin Hellcat engines destined for various projects, and I know there are Hellcat and Demon conversions in resin coming from a couple of resin casters, but a kit with potential multiple variations would be great.   I'd love to see the current Charger kitted...several variations there also--R/T, Hellcat, etc..

I think it would have been the natural thing for Revell to do these, but of course, things have changed for them, so sadly, I don't think we won't be seeing them come from Revell.

The Chargers could be done in multiple variants as well- even a police version could fly.

There is a black police car my township uses- it's a '15 or later, slick top, black graphics, alloy (not stamped steel) wheels. Very striking looking- probably the toughest looking cop car I have ever seen! Sort of like Mad Max's Interceptor running around my town!

I think one problem with making a sales case for new Chargers is: Testors/ Lindberg went all-in on kits of the 2006-2010 cars, and I don't think those kits sold too well. They were pricy for the time, although they were undeniably really, really nice kits. They had R/T, Daytona, SRT Super Bee and police variants. The police kits even had multiple stock wheel options and multiple light bar options in each kit. I think those kits will become very collectible (if they have not become so already) because of the subject matter's popularity in 1:1, relatively low production, and the general greatness of the kits themselves.

Revell was around plenty long enough to do something else with that 2009 tooling, they just for whatever reason never did. Makes you wonder if that and the 2010 Camaro were designed as one and dones, or there are more versions tooled into them that the sales figures just dictated they weren't going to do.

Lindberg shot themselves in both feet with the Chargers.  The R/T and Daytona were never sold as Lindberg kits, but rather as Lincoln Mint kits by Testors. The Super Bees sold like farts in church and ended up getting blown out at Ollie's. Then the police kits didn't come until the now infamous "West Coast Warehouse Fire" and by that time they were 4 years overdue and the body style had already changed in 2011.

Didn't Revell change direction to those simplified full detail kits that are not so great at either end in 2014?  Sales for the Camaro was probably good enough for them to tool up a new mold for the ZL1, along with that 2014 Mustang GT.  The Challenger didn't make the cut, however.

Yeah but in the gap between the 2009 Challenger/2010 Camaro and the pre-paint/simplified '13 Camaro/'14 Mustang, the Mustang was released as a full 2010 GT and Shelby kit and 2013 Boss 302.

2010 was also their last full Corvette kit after doing "annuals" throughout the 2000s and of course well before until the pre-paint/simplified C7 came out.

Which is why most people will point to Revell deciding to effectively abandon modern cars to adult builders.

I agree with everyone else on having some late model Muscle car models. My concerns are that the companies that would be investing a substantial amount of money up front do not base their product decision based on the sales of their previously released unassembled Prom type kits. I think that if say Revell was to devote the time and energy to bring to market a detailed kit of some of the new or newer performance car offerings they would be able to recover their costs and show a profit. That is my hope anyway.

Yeah, you'll just leave that right here. I see what you did. :)

Maybe I should put on in my 1:1 Morris Minor Traveler?

That would probably be even more dangerous that sticking ot in that Shadow:lol:

The engine is fantastic, but wow. That "Super Charger" is ugly. Not a fan of the exterior treatment at all.

A lot of '68-'70 Chargers are getting the custom treatment these days. I have definitely seen uglier!

Same thought here too, looks like something Dom Toretto would drive. I'm wondering how long before this one gets a guest spot in a Fast and Furious movie......

Wish I could afford to throw one in my 14' Charger R/T...and everything else it would need to work correctly....
