cobraman Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 Had this idea for awhile . Finally bought a Beatnik Bandit for the top and mounting ring . I had hoped it would be close to the size I needed . It was close but did have to enlarge the cobra interior area . First round of putty applied and sanded but another is sure to be needed . With holidays upon us I guess this project will stall for awhile .
Jonathan Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 I love it I think a companion would be cool w/ the double-bubble from the Futura or the '58 T-Bird, although both are probably too big for the Cobra body.
Draggon Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 That would be a great one to post on the bubbletop facebook page. If you do that sort of thing https://www.facebook.com/groups/1102325669867051/
Koellefornia Kid Posted December 22, 2018 Posted December 22, 2018 Looks like a George Jetson-style Cobra. Like that idea!
cobraman Posted January 9, 2019 Author Posted January 9, 2019 Made some progress on this one . Not much left to do and should finish it this week.
Gramps46 Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 Very interesting build Ray and nicely executed. I would like to see more of those wheels please.
cobraman Posted January 10, 2019 Author Posted January 10, 2019 I will take a pic of the wheels next chance I get. Strange thing about those wheels. 3 have lug nut detail but one does not. Wonder why that would be.
alan barton Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 Green is a suitably alien colour for this one - cool concept! Cheers Alan
Greg Wann Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 (edited) http://www.darrylstarbird.com/ Darryl Starbird would be so proud of you. Edited January 10, 2019 by Greg Wann
DrKerry Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 Looks awesome Ray!! Has the Beatnik look to it as a Cobra too!! The way the front fenders arch up and out, reminiscent of the Roth Beatnik!!
cobraman Posted January 10, 2019 Author Posted January 10, 2019 Hey Gary , here is a pic of the wheels you wanted . As I said , one of the four does not have any lug nut detail . Strange ?
vamach1 Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 Very cool but so impractical like a lot of custom cars back in the day. Baris and Daniels would be proud.
cobraman Posted January 10, 2019 Author Posted January 10, 2019 Thanks Rex . I do like to build some strange Cobra’s. Not everyones cup of tea but I have so many I like to have some that are different from the pack .
bobthehobbyguy Posted January 10, 2019 Posted January 10, 2019 Cool. Nice work Ray. Definitely different.
