I had the same issue with my DM600. I clipped off the horns, lights and exhaust and everything else went in the pond. What were they thinking? It's a working truck, construction, truck, it would never have any chrome on it. Just leave it in the pond till tomorrow.
dodgefever Posted January 31, 2019 Posted January 31, 2019 Mine will be getting a dose of oven cleaner tomorrow.
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted February 2, 2019 Posted February 2, 2019 You can't go wrong with this one unless you stop working on it like I've done with my U model. Looking forward to seeing more! Welcome to the Build Off!
Spruslayer Posted February 5, 2019 Author Posted February 5, 2019 I love some chrome but some things just dont ware it well. I have the chassis together and will shoot it with primer I think next ill tackle the motor. Heres a couple of pics
Rusty92 Posted February 5, 2019 Posted February 5, 2019 The DM600 is a fun kit. I should finish mine.
stitchdup Posted February 5, 2019 Posted February 5, 2019 Nice, this should be a tuff looking truck when you're done
Spruslayer Posted February 8, 2019 Author Posted February 8, 2019 Well, after looking at how the tilting front end works i decided to mount the radiator before priming. It looks like a lot rides on how straight and square the cab and front end sits rides on how square the radiator sits This is my attempt to get it in the chassis And some progress on the cab and engine
dodgefever Posted February 8, 2019 Posted February 8, 2019 Wow, you don't hang around! I'm still doing basic assembly on mine.

Spruslayer Posted February 8, 2019 Author Posted February 8, 2019 True Pat In the days when i had a real job i was a tool and die guy, %99 of shops back then you were responsible for all the hand type tools and this is some of the stuff from then. Comes in handy sometimes
Sam I Am Posted February 8, 2019 Posted February 8, 2019 Super clean work. Love the color. Years ago my father in law drove a 1983 Mac dump truck. I have been collecting everything needed to reproduce it.
