cobraman Posted January 31, 2019 Posted January 31, 2019 Just got to start this a couple days ago . Most painting is done except now for detail painting . Body is not yet cleared . I have ordered decals for dash and Model Car Garage PE set . Will add the white stripes . Not a Cobra but these are cool cars just the same !
tbill Posted January 31, 2019 Posted January 31, 2019 Nice! Love these in green with a black and white interior.
disconovaman Posted January 31, 2019 Posted January 31, 2019 Great Start! You will enjoy building this kit. If you have followed any of the Revell Camaro builds here you'll be aware (as a first time builder) that the tight fit will work to your advantage. I'm a fan as this is my favorite kit.
cobraman Posted February 1, 2019 Author Posted February 1, 2019 Thanks guys. I hope to do a good job on this kit then maybe build another Cobra.
Dann Tier Posted February 2, 2019 Posted February 2, 2019 This is looking GREAT, Ray!!...its gonna be great to follow!!
cobraman Posted February 2, 2019 Author Posted February 2, 2019 Thanks Dan. It won't be up to your standards but if done it looks like a Camaro, I will be happy.
mod3l Lover Posted February 2, 2019 Posted February 2, 2019 I just love the idea of the green with the white/black interior choice!! The '69 Camaro is one of my favorite body styles of all the years. It should be real sharp! David S.
cobraman Posted February 2, 2019 Author Posted February 2, 2019 Thanks David . Here is the finished chassis .
slusher Posted February 2, 2019 Posted February 2, 2019 Looking great Ray, clean and fine paint work!
mikemodeler Posted February 2, 2019 Posted February 2, 2019 Coming along nicely, love that shade of green. '69s are my favorite, have a bunch in the display case.
majel Posted February 2, 2019 Posted February 2, 2019 Chassis looks great, you're well on your way to a beautiful model.
cobraman Posted February 3, 2019 Author Posted February 3, 2019 Thanks Jim. I will settle for , it looks ok.
cobraman Posted February 4, 2019 Author Posted February 4, 2019 I got the decals on and used the chrome pen for window trim . Still waiting for dash decals and the PE set from Model Car Garage .
bobthehobbyguy Posted February 5, 2019 Posted February 5, 2019 Coming along nicely. Great color choice.

Still waiting for dash decals and the PE set from Model Car Garage . Looking good, Ray. Although I would prefer BMF to the chrome pen, to be honest. Congrats on getting the decals laid that well. I was working on the same decals for my Camaro last night (the black ones actually, but I assume they are the same material). I did not manage to get them laid properly, with all the use of (lots of) softener, hairdryer and whatnot. Later I wondered if maybe I should have cut them in halves lengthwise. Could have helped... May I ask how you have been doing it?
cobraman Posted February 6, 2019 Author Posted February 6, 2019 I agree about the BMF but I was low on it and just enough to do the side trim with it. I do normally have a lot of trouble with decals over curved surfaces. I applied as normal and just applied Solveset on the top and set it aside. The decals are not perfect but they did lay down pretty good.
cobraman Posted February 6, 2019 Author Posted February 6, 2019 I’m on the home stretch with this one . Still waiting for the PE parts for this car . Nice kit . Thanks to Snake for the recommendation .
