KJ790 Posted February 3, 2019 Posted February 3, 2019 I do not think that I have posted this one here yet. This is an AMT Pete 352 that I made a few modifications to. I think it goes well with my recently finished reefer trailer.
DRIPTROIT 71 Posted February 3, 2019 Posted February 3, 2019 Wow!! I wish that I could capture that vintage look the way that you do! Awesome work as usual!!

Jim B Posted February 3, 2019 Posted February 3, 2019 Very nice job on the Pete. I like the subtle weathering, and it looks great with your reefer.
tbill Posted February 3, 2019 Posted February 3, 2019 You really capture the look! So, what did you use for the side of beef?

SpreadAxle Posted February 4, 2019 Posted February 4, 2019 Where do I start! Wow that is outstanding! The details, the paint job, the load are all amazing.

Goodwrench3 Posted February 4, 2019 Posted February 4, 2019 Beautiful !!! Where did you get the grille ? I know that isn't the one in the 352 kit. Thanks

I made the grille out of styrene half-round strips. If you but them up against each other then it looks like shutters.
Hmann68 Posted February 4, 2019 Posted February 4, 2019 That’s an outstanding job, the pics look like an actual truck outside! Nice job on the weathering too.
PacificEd Posted February 4, 2019 Posted February 4, 2019 Did you use the kit 8V71 Detroit or swap it for something different? This 352 is spot on 1970's. The wheels and tires do a huge part to give it a period correct look.

I changed the bumper to the California Hauler one, made some grille shutters, added a steerable front axle, and changed the rims and tires.

Absolutely - this rig cries "early 70's" - it looks fantastic: the grill shutters, the smaller bumper, the paint scheme etc. etc. Especially on pic 3 or 4 you hardly can tell it from a real one !

Very realistic, great job!
PacificEd Posted February 5, 2019 Posted February 5, 2019 Did you shorten the chassis? I need to get busy on my Peterbilt 352 Michigan Special. Thanks for the inspiration.

trick my mixer Posted February 5, 2019 Posted February 5, 2019 Super job on the two builds. Very nice detail. They both look like well seasoned Highway Trucks..!!!!!
iamsuperdan Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 Looks really good! And I really like your photography. Outdoor shots add so much to the realism.
dodgefever Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 Outstanding. Brings back memories of my first visits to the US. Will those tyres be available at some point, or are you reserving them for your own builds?
towman1271 Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 that's impressive. The details make it so realistic looking!
OldTrucker Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 A flashback for me to earlier days trucking! Great job! Might add a little wear to the step under the door, the paint on the edge never seemed to stay very long on them! Love the weathering on the wheel rings on the steers. What tires did you use on this one? They look great!
