Richard Bartrop Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 According to this, you haven't lived until you've gotten yourself a pair of tapered slacks and a small French sedan. From Jalopnik
Greg Myers Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 My friend Mike Kovara, Tucson 1967, Gasser style. Make do with what you have.
my80malibu Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 Waking up without Aches and Pains. Now that's living.

misterNNL Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 Sometimes living is a comparison thing. I usually don't have to look too far to realize that someone is much worse off than I am. I am blessed for certain.
espo Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 Thinking back the only Simca's I remember were Gassers. Those paints are so high that if he sat down he'd cut himself in two. I also remember those skinny belts.
bbowser Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 I'll take a Simca for $1,700. $5.95 is too much for those pants, however

Can-Con Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 I remember my uncle George having a Simca for a short time when I was very small ,, pre-school age. He had a thing for weird European cars. He also had a Rover a DKW and of corse, a few VWs. But his Simca looked like this one,,
1972coronet Posted April 5, 2019 Posted April 5, 2019 Mod fashion RULES . I miss being thin and truly fashionable ( "See my tailor he's called 'Simon / I know it's going to fit..." ) ; these days all that I have is a new pair of Cuban-heel Chelsea boots ---- need to find a pair of Renauld Sea & Ski Spectaculars sunglasses again !
berr13 Posted April 5, 2019 Posted April 5, 2019 Hey, what it says is you're "REALLY living". I can fake it with the best of 'em, and still be happy. Especially if it means I don't have to drive a Simca or wear Lee pants.
slusher Posted April 5, 2019 Posted April 5, 2019 The 60's muscle cars and mini skirts was the best a friend told me once...
Oldcarfan27 Posted April 5, 2019 Posted April 5, 2019 After all these years, now I know what I've been missing! BTW, why is that guy on the right pulling on the other guys pants???

thatz4u Posted May 13, 2019 Posted May 13, 2019 if you don't wake up smelling flowers, hearing organ music, or sleeping in a box, then you are living......enjoy & build a model...
Lizard Racing Posted May 13, 2019 Posted May 13, 2019 Bell bottoms, bushy hair, sideburns and wild colors: I kind of miss that. But I don't miss the cars of the '70s; underpowered engines and fall-apart technology. Change is part of life.
PeeBee Posted May 13, 2019 Posted May 13, 2019 Indeed, waist heights were up there back then. I grew up wondering if my father had a navel.
espo Posted May 14, 2019 Posted May 14, 2019 The belt was always at or above the navel at that time. I'm not a fan of this style but it does look better than seeing what type of under ware someone has on.

ChrisBcritter Posted May 17, 2019 Posted May 17, 2019 (edited) And if you want to really live in 1/24 scale, here you go: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Simca-Aronde-P60-Elysee-1960-1-24-New-Box-Diecast-model-Car-auto-vintage/352583546863?hash=item52179df7ef:g:wC8AAOSw7GNav0wO Another little diecast gem from the folks at Hachette. ChrisBcritter Posted May 24, 2019 Posted May 24, 2019 Just spotted this on the H.A.M.B.: From a 1960 Mopar promotional comic book. The whole thing is here (scroll most of the way down): https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/vintage-shots-from-days-gone-by.428585/page-6621#post-13092540
