Classicgas Posted August 13, 2019 Posted August 13, 2019 We'll change that to 6 lol. Rolling sculpture.
RichCostello Posted August 13, 2019 Posted August 13, 2019 I'll make it 7! I can't believe someone hasn't kitted this car yet.
Bucky Posted August 13, 2019 Posted August 13, 2019 It should be a no-brainer, what with all the re-issues of the other year model Rivieras, down thru the years.
Trendsetta68 Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 The model car companies have really missed out on a great subject... Factory stock, lowrider, custom, resto-rod, etc. Very cool subject !!!!!???
Trendsetta68 Posted August 18, 2019 Posted August 18, 2019 Would anyone else be interested in a '70 or '71 Plymouth Sport Fury GT ?

Bucky Posted August 19, 2019 Posted August 19, 2019 One of my cousins had a '72 Fury that looked exactly like this one: I really liked that car. I was 17 at the time, and loved driving that barge!!

But, my guess is that we will get another Camaro instead. I'd buy one in a second. I think that's a very nice-looking car. I actually prefer it to the Torino (although if they did a nice '72, I'd buy one of those, too.) I also join the call for a Boattail Riviera. In the spirit of the muscle set originally called for: 1. A NEW 1965 GTO. Revell's '66 is a great start. AMT or Lindberg's 1966-'67 4-4-2s would also be a good starting point. 2. Something different.....in addition to the '65 Goat, tool up the slightly different body (mainly the taillights and some trim,) and make a 1966-'67 LeMans Sprint with the OHC 6 with the 4-bbl. 3. A not-all-screwed-up '67 GTO. Again....Revell's '66 is a perfect starting place. 4. A correct 1971-'73 Mustang should be a available. A Boss 351 would be cool. So would a convertible. 5. Something really different...1964 Studebaker Hawk GT with the R-4 supercharged engine. Seriously, one of the most attractive cars of the '60s. Yes, all new tool. Yes, Moebius is most likely to do it. 6. Perhaps not "muscle" in the traditional sense, but I would like a thoroughly modern 1966 Olds Toronado kit. The Jo-Han kit is outstanding, especially for its time, but they're pricey, and this is a car whose recognized significance is growing. 7. I think we're due for a completely correct 1970-'74 Dodge Challenger. Provided they actually lengthen the wheelbase a bit, Revell has a good start with the new Barracudas. A 340 Six-Pack car would be pretty nifty, maybe with optional parts to build an SE if you wanted a mini executive rocket for something a little different. Charlie Larkin
Joe Handley Posted August 19, 2019 Posted August 19, 2019 Let's just hope that this C-Barge isn't used by somebody designing the kit, roof appears chopped and last I checked, they weren't 4wd and didn't have leaf springs supporting a live axle with a sheetmetal center section......

Trendsetta68 Posted August 21, 2019 Posted August 21, 2019 I Know we've had our share of muscle car issues and re-issues but IMO I think it might be nearing time to have an all new 1971 Dodge Challenger R/T kit on the market .....

I didn’t put it in my list because it is on the obscure side, but MAN that thing is awesome! Same with the 70 Mercury Marauder:
Bucky Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 Nothing wrong with BIG Muscle! 1970 Chrysler 300 Hurst! Moebius could do one each of these!

Sledsel Posted August 23, 2019 Posted August 23, 2019 Round2 needs to ante up and come out with some new stuff. Even just updating some of their old stuff. Usually the body is really nice, just update interiors and chassis. They would be like brand new kits. Revell, well, the last bunch of years have been disappointing for me. Their bodies are always messed up, so new stuff from them would probably be the same. Just my cents

DonW Posted August 23, 2019 Posted August 23, 2019 (edited) A couple of controversial ones - the perennial question, does a muscle car have to be American? Gordon Keeble, '64 to '67, 327 Chevy, all manuals except one. Jensen CV8, '62-'66, 361 Chrysler Golden Commando V8. Later ones had a 383. Mostly autos, but still rapid. I'd love a kit of either, especially the Jensen. A family friend had one, I'll never forget going for a ride in it, it was pretty brutal. Edited August 23, 2019 by DonW more info.
