crazyjim Posted June 23, 2019 Posted June 23, 2019 This build was an exercise in taping and retaping. Paint is all HOK kandies in different flavors.
shoopdog Posted June 24, 2019 Posted June 24, 2019 Wow! That is some spectacular paint work you've done there Jim, very, very cool.
cobraman Posted June 24, 2019 Posted June 24, 2019 That is wild ! Was not expecting something like that from you.
crazyjim Posted June 24, 2019 Author Posted June 24, 2019 Thank Ray. Fatkidd attended an airbrush demo FAST put on. He was doing some fancy painting look very easy. I ordered the very narrow tape he was using and had to ttry it out.
DaveP Posted June 25, 2019 Posted June 25, 2019 Beautiful, truly a work of art. The wheels really suit it too.
mrmike Posted June 26, 2019 Posted June 26, 2019 WOW! That's nice! I have the same kit with all the custom van parts, plus a few more that I tossed in.
Vince66 Posted June 28, 2019 Posted June 28, 2019 Is that primer patch part of the paint job or did the tape remove some paint around the passenger taillight. Great looking van and paint. What tape did you use.
crazyjim Posted June 28, 2019 Author Posted June 28, 2019 Thank you Vince. Tape removed some of the paint. There was no way I could touch it up. General masking was with Washi and blue painters tape. The real fine line tape is micro tape from Custom Fineline Tape.
BeakDoc Posted June 30, 2019 Posted June 30, 2019 Wow. That paint job is.... Wait for it..... Vantastic!
mikemodeler Posted June 30, 2019 Posted June 30, 2019 Very brave to step out of your comfort zone Jim! Nice work and I am sure it was quite the learning experience, many of us might not be as adventurous!
