Chris Smith Posted August 15, 2019 Posted August 15, 2019 I thought I try something new. I found building this was a lot of fun and learning how to do weathering was also fun.
SfanGoch Posted August 15, 2019 Posted August 15, 2019 Outstanding, Chris! The weathering is downright superb.
stavanzer Posted August 15, 2019 Posted August 15, 2019 Looks Crusty. Which is exactly how a tank Should look! Well done
Evlwevl Posted August 15, 2019 Posted August 15, 2019 Very nice, building tanks is much more relaxing to me than cars since I can concentrate on the build and then paint later.
Ace-Garageguy Posted August 15, 2019 Posted August 15, 2019 (edited) Very nice. I'm impressed. If this is your first work in this genre, I'm doubly impressed. Even the crusted mud on the tracks looks right. Edited August 16, 2019 by Ace-Garageguy
retired & glad Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 Fantastic job on this one. What paint did you use on it ? I've often looked at other things instead of cars or trucks but never dove into buying anything. Might look a little harder at other stuff.
High octane Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 Lookin' good on that tank build. I haven't built a tank model since the 50's. I do occasionally build an airplane kit though.
Hotrod 97 Posted August 16, 2019 Posted August 16, 2019 Very nice build, Chris! Awesome work on the weathering!
Chris Smith Posted August 17, 2019 Author Posted August 17, 2019 Thank you everyone for the kind words!! This is my first attempt at building a tank and weathering. I found that YouTube was the best place to see and learn new techniques. You do have to apply what you see and hope it turns out the way “you” want it. I used Tamiya paints on this build. I would like to give the weathering credit to Andy @ Andyshobby and panzermister36 these people have some great techniques on YouTube that where beyond helpful.
Rider Posted August 19, 2019 Posted August 19, 2019 That really turned out fantastic great job on the weathering/chipping.
David G. Posted August 20, 2019 Posted August 20, 2019 Your weathering looks great! You've really nailed the "Thousand and one details". David G.
Chris Smith Posted August 20, 2019 Author Posted August 20, 2019 Thank you everyone for the kind words!! I do really appreciate them
bisc63 Posted November 8, 2019 Posted November 8, 2019 Nice! Now it just needs a simple but grungy base for display; never cared for dirty tanks on clean background!
