Count me a fan of John's too Brian.  He's a great guy and I miss his posts around here on our forum.   Thanks for the comment too.

Thanks Ian too, I got many great pics of the car itself and what's interesting is that most of my numbers on my blueprint were fairly accurate....most, not all.  So this will really help me along......you know I won't have it done in the next week or month for that matter.  I'm just slow.  Cheers, tim

Just the shifter handles/bracket but I got the trans stand made and painted and this gives an idea of what they'll look like outside of the car when it's done.   Cheers to ALL!  timimage.jpeg.c7cbee2f49693520004dbb614b6a978b.jpeg

OMG, THAT Is insane work . hard to believe its 1/25th scale

Just missing a drop or two of oil on the floor to simulate an unlikely leak and you could bet it's the real thing, AMAZING!

If I could have inspired you in the slightest for the gas tank, you put wood in my furnace for the transmission, the little hamster is running in my head, you are hard on me Tim, I hate you........ I'm kidding, it's quite the opposite my friend, your magic works! 😊

Wow Tim that linkage and those shifters are amazing, this is modeling at it's finest, also I hope you are feeling better.

I found the reverse case bolt - it bounded away and ended up under my work bench - you must have sneezed …

Bruce, certainly no need to apologize, you've been more than kind for a long time when it comes to this "epic" (in my vocab, that means the "endless" build).  Hope you can put up with a another 18-24 months of this at the rate I'm going.  cheers, tim

Bill, it IS small I'll grant you that.  If I remember to, I'll weigh the little bugger, it's got some HEFT to it.   :)   cheers

Francis, Love you too buddy.......a joke of course.  You always make me laugh and it's been great fun to post along with this build while you build your phenomenal car.  Tortoise (me) and Hare (you of course) in which I've no doubt you'll win though.  I'm learning from you as well Francis and you "'push" me to try new things along the way which is the joy in building.     Cheers, Tim

Mike, Scott, Robert, Brian & Elliot.......please keep following along and I promise you won't be disappointed as I've got some interesting/fun things yet to come.   Thanks of course for the comments too!   cheers, tim

Andrew, thanks man......I knew I had it around here somewhere.  Interesting "story" as I went to replace the bolt in the case the other day and while handling the trans, I DROPPED the entire transmission to the floor.  My heart was in my throat.  Someone was watching over it this time and it had no scratches, dings or scrapes of any kind on it.  Only 1 linkage popped off which I quickly re-attached.  It's now sitting under glass alongside the engine until the build is complete.   Whew!   cheers, tim

I have to reiterate--I love the Lenco! As beautiful as all your work is, for me, the trans just raises the bar, even higher. A real Lenco doesn't look any more like a Lenco, than this.

Tim, first off I hope things are going well with your arm.   Your Lenco absolutely has blown me away, having R&R'd, stripped down and generally thrown around the real item, and built what I thought at the time was a fairly good 1/16th scale version, I feel justified in commenting on your final product.   I have a 30 inch monitor in my model room and really looked at your transmission. I have said in the past that such and such part was virtually  indistinguishable from the real thing, in the case of of this item I can't say that.  I see nothing at all that would tell me that this is not the real part, not the surface finish, fasteners or linkages.  So I am trusting you that this is not in fact a real transmission.  Simply amazing work Tim!

Good afternoon everyone, I hope your enjoying the Masters today whether you're a fan of golf or not, its been an exciting tournament for sure.  Yesterday I had my final MRI on my upper bicep and shoulder. I'll know by Monday what's getting sewn back up first I'm sure and get it scheduled.  Thanks for asking and your shared sentiments.  I want to reply to the following first;

Daniel, that is VERY high praise and exactly what I'm trying to achieve.  big thanks, tim

Bob, that put a smile on my face, they do go together and when this build is done I'm sure it will present well overall.  cheers

Charlie, appreciate it sir, trust me I've been following BOTH of your builds now in the Salt Race thread.  Love the Bugatti but I'm certainly interested in what you're doing with the chevy.  cheers!

Ian, I don't know what to say.  As I said above to Daniel, it's so appreciated the acknowledgement of what I'm trying to achieve and that my efforts are worth the effort I'm putting forth.  Many thanks too!

Today I finished the gas tank for the car.  Back in the 70's Sox & Martin and Barry Setzer's cars (with help from Buttera) had some of the cleanest, finest race cars you'd ever see and won their share of Best Engineered trophies.  My inspiration for the fuel tank is one that Buttera did for Setzer's Pro Stock Vega. I took a hunk of alum and corner rounded every single corner/edge and then cut recesses in every panel (all 6 sides with the bottom matching the top) When I started I wasn't quite sure how it was going to turn out and was ready to start  over but I finished it up and I like how it turned out.  It's flashy and not something that you would see on a Gapp & Roush car back in the day but I'm taking liberties here so sue me.   LOL!    Here's the pics, CHEERS !   Tim

The inspiration, btw with the measurements that I made the tank it comes out to just shy of 9 gallons if it were a real one.

I'm not wild about my parts bin gas cap and will try to make my own.

Wow nice work on that fuel tank, it looks like a piece of jewelry the finish is very smooth.

The fuel tank is absolutely superb Tim, I assure you that taking liberties when you have talent like you is not a risky move, it is your signature and it has long proven its beneficial effect on everything you create! 👌

My word , Tim! Just some amazing stuff you have produced. Even with a bumm arm you’re killing it. Hopefully your surgery and recovery are smooth and I can, like you have said, put up with another 18-24 months of your build. I can’t wait to see what fun stuff you have planned 😉

Thanks everyone for the positive comments above.  The doctor did confirm that I have 3 tears, 2 in the bi-cep and a new rotator cuff tear.  Surprisingly, the doc said that since none are complete tears, he wants me to do therapy for the next 6 weeks and then we'll go from there.  I don't want surgery (who does right?) but I DO want to get back to 100%.  Hopefully delaying things in the long term.

The Maverick, I'm working on the fuel system with the pumps and regulator. It'll have dual Holley "Big Blue" 110-GPH electric pumps with the matching Holley fuel regulator.  Pics attached.  I've got just 1 alum. base to make yet and then a few brass pieces & straps to finish them.  I'll media blast portions of the pump body and paint the upper half.  Each pump will have 11 bolts along with wires to detail em.   Cheers to one and all!  tim

the regulator above will be about 1/8" in length to give some perspective of the challenge to make it....

Nice work on those fuel pump parts, always a pleasure to see an update from you. I am glad you got a decent report from your doctor, I hope all goes well with you.

Good news for your injury, it's reassuring to know that you could avoid surgery.  That being said, that doesn't seem to stop you, the work on the fuel pumps is impressive and convincing as usual!  The total number of things to make for such a project seems endless, but I see that the machine is well underway again! 😁
