yellowsportwagon Posted September 7, 2019 Posted September 7, 2019 Another deadbeat off my bench. Been sitting 6 months. This is a rescue body on a Polar Lights Chassis. 1 1
Old Coyote Posted September 7, 2019 Posted September 7, 2019 Great looking build sir. I love the obscure (or less prominent) drivers you select.Gorgeous Plymouth, very nicely done.

There were only a handful of superstars at any given time. Those superstars had to beat all these little guys to win.
MarkJ Posted September 8, 2019 Posted September 8, 2019 Another Awesome one , Tim. I've always loved that year Plymouth. Excellent job chroming the bumpers. Paint and decal work superb as always.
bbowser Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 That's a beauty! I really like your choices of subjects.

Shambles Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 Love the OLD Nascars. I'm working a couple myself but ain't got them up on my site yet.
drodg Posted September 16, 2019 Posted September 16, 2019 Beautiful Roadrunner. I own a 1965 Coronet that was bought new by Buddy back in the day.
6883michaelw Posted February 18, 2020 Posted February 18, 2020 Gorgeous model. Really love those older 60s and 70s NASCARs. Who did the decals for you? Would like to get a set or two of them.

gks1964 Posted February 19, 2020 Posted February 19, 2020 Is the body an old MPC version? How did the PL chassis fit? Gerald

Gerald Gerald it is quite a bit of work to get the chassis under the Roadrunner. You have to shorten the back by almost 1/8 inch. Move the cell forward till it almost touches the rear axle.you also need to move the hoops that surround the coolers up frt. I drill new holes and mount them higher and grind the bottom of the hoops to clear the fender. The radiator shrouding needs shortened too. Then you need to pull the tires in to clear the body. Fit everything with the frt bumper held in place. The worst of the whole thing is getting the hood to close all the way. I take the incorrect bulge out of the hood and replace it with a flat sheet. The carburetor needs to be sanded almost to nothing to get air cleaner under the hood. It’s a project but comes out good. I’ve done about 4-5 of them. The nice thing is the rollbar and firewalls fit like they were made for this body. Edited February 21, 2020 by yellowsportwagon
