ATHU Posted September 11, 2019 Posted September 11, 2019 My build of the old Jo-Han De Soto kit. Color is Arctic Blue Metallic. 2
BeakDoc Posted September 11, 2019 Posted September 11, 2019 Gorgeous finish on what was a great looking car! Awesome detailing as well! I’m dog-earing that interior photo as well. I have that kit minus the interior. My plan is to either scratch build one or modify one I have from a destroyed ‘60 Dodge Phoenix promo that is a very close fit, albeit, not a very close match style-wise.
Speedfreak Posted September 11, 2019 Posted September 11, 2019 Wow, it's knock out Chrysler build week, that is very, very nice!
Peter Lombardo Posted September 11, 2019 Posted September 11, 2019 Beautiful, what a shame those old molds no longer exist. Beautiful.
Jim N Posted September 11, 2019 Posted September 11, 2019 Great work! The paint and detailing are superb.
StevenGuthmiller Posted September 11, 2019 Posted September 11, 2019 Very nice work on a great old kit! It's such a shame that we never got any more Desoto kits. Steve
1959scudetto Posted September 11, 2019 Posted September 11, 2019 Very nice model of one of the most beautiful cars of that era-
Can-Con Posted September 11, 2019 Posted September 11, 2019 Great looking car. Excellent job on the trim and details. ?
thecrossguy Posted September 11, 2019 Posted September 11, 2019 Beautiful color combination. Great work. ?
Tom Geiger Posted September 11, 2019 Posted September 11, 2019 Very pretty! I once saw one like that at a show with the rotating bucket seats!
randyc Posted September 11, 2019 Posted September 11, 2019 I used the body on a pro street chaos years ago. If I had to do it again, I can't imagine a better combination than what you did. Beautiful
Phildaupho Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 Super nice build and excellent photos.
Mike999 Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 Very sharp, clean build, especially that interior. Here's a green one I found at a flea market recently, along with a '60 Plymouth. The sagging rear ends aren't a custom touch; the lowering blocks have come unglued.
Tommy124 Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 Very nicely done! I take it you applied the BMF before the clearcoat?
espo Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 This a beautiful looking build of a model not often seen. Great looking paint and trim finish and the interior looks just like OEM. I also like the way you detailed the interior. I built on back when they were first issued by JoHan and needless to say it never looked anything close to this. I left it on my then work bench when called to dinner by my mother. I also left a wood burning tool that I was using plugged in on the bench beside the De Soto. I wish now that I had saved it since building models of cars that have been in an accident has become popular.
bbowser Posted September 12, 2019 Posted September 12, 2019 Outstanding model. Great photography also!
