curt raitz Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 (edited) Nash's only victory was at Charlotte Speedway in 1951 and was driven by Curtis Turner. This is another model I've built of the cars Curtis Turner raced throughout his career. I started with a 3D printed body from Jahn3D. The Revell 1950 Oldsmobile chassis, running gear, interior, wheels and tires slide underneath the 3D printed Nash Ambassador. This model is on it's way to the Curtis Turner wing at the Virginia Museum of Transportation in Roanoke, Virginia. thanx for lookin'... Edited October 14, 2019 by curt raitz grammar
espo Posted October 14, 2019 Posted October 14, 2019 I like this. The win was because of Curtis Turner, he was one of the early drivers that could "wheel" anything and make it a winner.
David G. Posted October 15, 2019 Posted October 15, 2019 I love those bullet racers! You really captured the feel of the original. David G.
Jim N Posted October 15, 2019 Posted October 15, 2019 Great work Curt! I am sure the museum will be pleased.
1930fordpickup Posted October 15, 2019 Posted October 15, 2019 Nice to see the other brands that won a race, done in scale.
bbowser Posted October 15, 2019 Posted October 15, 2019 I keep coming back to this one. Nice work on a seldom seen subject from the infancy of stock car racing.
Eric Macleod Posted October 18, 2019 Posted October 18, 2019 My first car (1:1) was a 1947 Nash 600. My heart swelled when I saw these. I would love for a model of my car and your beautifully rendered models make me think I should make this desire a reality. Very nicely done. I would like to talk to you about the steps you took to get the raw kit together.
