Hey CT!  How are you my friend, family and myself are well, kids are locked in, trying to keep them up on school work.  I'm still working away, glad to be getting my 40 hours in.  Trying to get some bench time in as well!  I will post a pic but yes, it was a 12th scale 57...that was years ago, I want to say it was either 92 to 95 or 93 to 96 but I was lucky enough to win the Junior award at the NNL West 4 years straight...AMT 66 Nova, a Revell 16th scale 34 Ford, 12th scale 57 then 12 th scale 67 Corvette.  Memories!!

How are you and your family holding up thru all this?

Hi Paul!

Glad to see all is good at your end.

I know CA was among the first to order stay at home measures. Same here. Most people are  doing OK, but the old persons residences are getting hit hard, with hundreds of victims. Otherwise, in the general population, it seems under control so far. The arrival of spring is starting to give cabin fever to millions of people. I guess they don't know the joy of modeling at the bench ?!

I'm completing 5 different buitls at once: 36 fenderless lowboy, 65 Pontiac GP custom lowrider, a Foose Eldorod converted to a delivery wagon, a VW surfer's van and a custom Harley chopper.

Ah, the joys of styrene...

Stay safe, and take good care of Bella!

Regards, CT

Another beautiful and tasteful project and with good company as I can see!   Nice to see another youngster interested in this fantastic hobby and thanks to sharing your knowledge with her it's refreshing ... the hobby needs these new followers...

You're lucky you have easy access to HOK supplies, such a great choice of attractive colors!  It's like an illegal substance here across the northern border, at least for model makers... ?

Thank you for the comments AMF and Paul, I grew up around the hobby and the real cars, love em all!  I can't tell you how happy I am my youngest is enjoying the hobby and now taking a huge interest in the real ones, she has claimed my 63 Riviera as her first car...We are very fortunate as my father was a painter/auto body guy so we have always had access to the full size guns, touch up guns and materials.  I grew up spraying HOK, PPG, Sikkens etc and now teaching Bell.  It has been sad to see the hobby slow down so much over the years, I myself am guilty of falling in and out with everything else but since diving back in and having Bell working and learning, it has been great!  Hopefully by the end of the weekend we will have some updates on Bell's pick up in here!  Thanks again guys, Bell appreciates the comments and support!

Hi Paul!

Bella's polish job on the PU deserves to be the pride of the family. She certainly carries on with the family tradition. Bravo!

Her bright smile and even her white glasses are a perfect "match" for the white contrasting top on the Nomad. Nice pictures!

Thank you guys!  The nomad is a friend of ours here locally, beautiful car!

How is all CT, hope the things have been well, we finally got the last few pieces sprayed for the pickup over the past few days so Bell and I will be working on finishing her build!  In the process she started another project, the old MPC Joker car, I have not seen too many done, this one is going to be cool, think you will like it, we will post some pics up here shortly!  And thank you for the comments, Bell is a wonderful kid, brings a lot of joy to the family for sure!

Hi Paul!

Good to hear from you, with all the terrible news we get from California. I assume all is well with your loved ones? Here, so far, so good!

I look forward to following your next project!

Happy 2021 to you and the family!

Hi Paul, just seeing this thread for the first time. Almost brought a tear to my eye. Watching what you and your daughter have done is really awesome, even touching. I have a stepdaughter that has been in my life since she was 2, she’s almost 20 now. When she was young, she would come down to my hobby room to watch me build cars. She had a chair, I quickly built her a “craft” desk right beside my hobby desk. We spent many hours together down there, some of my fondest memories. We did build a snap kit together, but she never took to the hobby, she does however love hot rods and old cars. So she has a bit of gear head in her, which I love. She will often come into the hobby room and ask what I’m working on.
Love Bella’s truck, so cool that she has taken to the hobby!

Cheers, Steve

Thank you, Bell is very fortunate to have her grandfather who paints cars and myself to teach her, I started spraying at an early age myself, she is getting there, one project at a time with a little help ?

Hey Buddy, yes things are pretty bad here in California, I think I had me toned in early August Bell and June both had covid, very mild and have been fine as of now, just learned another family member has it, just keeps spreading...aside from all that, things are good, enjoying the bench time with Bell and my father.  Bell has a good start on the Joker car, that is fun, different!  Glad you are well my friend, how are your projects coming along?

Appreciate the kind comments Steve and on a very similar note, I have a 20 year old (step) daughter I've raised since she was 2!  Her mother and I have since divorced but we are all still family and I am "dad" to her daughter.  It's great having Bell pick up interest in the real cars and models, its ignited my interest back in the hobby for sure!  We'll be looking to keep our projects updated here more often, check out Bells Joker car if you get a chance. That is a fun one!!

Hi Paul!

Well, hope nobody suffers long term consequences. Young adults usually fare much better when they get it than, say, old farts like me...  That's why I am prudent about it.

This fall, I completed a 61 Impala Pro-Touring, built on commission for a well know model mag. Also: a custom Low Rider VW van, a 60 Starliner Pro-Touring with the roof from the Alternomad, a 68 Charger Concept with a late model Hemi mounted amidship, plus a 41 Lincoln that I mashed with a 93 Camaro greenhouse. Voilà!

I forgot: also a 37 Ford panel with twin blown engine called The Pole Depot. You may already see it on the light commercial forum (think it's on page 2 or 3...)

Some of them will eventually be posted on this forum.

Take care!

CT

PS: I'll keep an eye on the Joker car...

Good for you folks. I do love that colour! I did a ‘32 Deuce in a similar shade. Can’t wait to see your progress.?

How's it going everyone, Bell got through about 90% of the build to get it over to the NNL West, had a few fitting issues and things she will go back and adjust but overall, great looking model.  She had a blast at the show, I'll get a few more pics up later but here are a few of her wrapping up the model and of it at the show.
