yellowsportwagon Posted February 13, 2020 Posted February 13, 2020 Just mocked up for now. Johan 68 Caddy convt. With a 67 Impala roof.
espo Posted February 13, 2020 Posted February 13, 2020 This looks better than what GM did with this model years ago. I know styles change from year to year, but this roof looks much better than what GM built.

Reuhkapelti2 Posted February 13, 2020 Posted February 13, 2020 (edited) Caddy looks very smooth. I'm excited to see progress on this one. Edited February 13, 2020 by Reuhkapelti2
Rob Hall Posted February 13, 2020 Posted February 13, 2020 Neat...this reminds me of a Photoshop image of a '67 CDV w/ the fastback roofline that's been making the rounds on FB for years.

Rob Hall Posted February 13, 2020 Posted February 13, 2020 Yes, that’s the pic I was thinking of. If I had an extra 68 CdV and ‘68 Impala I’d like to use the formal Caddy roofline to approximate a ‘68 Impala custom coupe.

Eric Macleod Posted February 13, 2020 Posted February 13, 2020 I am not typically into modified cars but this thing is really cool.
yellowsportwagon Posted February 13, 2020 Author Posted February 13, 2020 Some putty and primer to see if it flows nicely.
yellowsportwagon Posted February 14, 2020 Author Posted February 14, 2020 I think this will look pretty cool.
bisc63 Posted February 14, 2020 Posted February 14, 2020 That is a really cool custom! Great idea, and you are right on that GM couldda and shouldda.
Superbird McMonte Posted February 14, 2020 Posted February 14, 2020 I’m a big fan of the 67 and 68 Cadillac Coupe Deville. I’m also a purist for original design. That being said, I really like this custom!? I have a couple extra 67s, I think I’ll follow along and try it myself!? I see it in lime green and real low!
David G. Posted February 16, 2020 Posted February 16, 2020 Interesting fusion. In my mind, I'm not so sure that the sweep of the Chevy roof-line mates well with the blockiness of the Caddy side panels. I'm very curious, I'll be watching to see how this one works out. David G.
89AKurt Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 Love the concept. What are you using for putty?
yellowsportwagon Posted February 17, 2020 Author Posted February 17, 2020 Evercoat 2 part glaze. 4 hours ago, 89AKurt said: Love the concept. What are you using for putty? Evercoat two part glaze.
Reuhkapelti2 Posted February 17, 2020 Posted February 17, 2020 In my eye this big coupe looks terriffic. I wouldn't change a thing, even the tone of that primer suits well on that body shell.
yellowsportwagon Posted February 18, 2020 Author Posted February 18, 2020 So I’ve been staring at this thing and think I need to straighten the door window at the top. It’s too round yet.More like the tape shows I think would be better
Oldcarfan27 Posted February 20, 2020 Posted February 20, 2020 That looks sleek! Kind of an update of a 59 Caddy. Please put a stock type "Firemist" color on it to continue the tribute. Make it believable.
