I couldn’t believe how high the bids got on this kit. I have this kit, only with a painted body. I was going to bid on it, but now I’ll have to pass.

In The Directory of Model Car Kits, it has a value listed as $20. I suppose it’s worth a bunch more to someone?

There is a saying that goes "A fool and their money as soon parted". While this is a very good kit and I have built a couple with plans for another or two, this makes me wonder if the seller isn't bidding against potential buyers in hopes of driving up the price.

I've been looking for one of these to graft its front end onto an AMT '55 Sedan. Checked eBay a few weeks ago and was surprised how high prices were. I'll turn up a reasonable one sooner or later.

I noticed it too, same with the '57 Chevy convertible. I think Revell will make them again, if they get rolling. These aren't that old and I don't think anything happened to the molds.

Good point. I always wonder this myself. I would think ebay would catch that act pretty easy. Now if you had a friend from another town, you could have them bid high for you.

It seems there are less sellers on eBay now anymore. Everything about the site is a bit ridiculous anymore.

Good things come to those who wait.

I've got that kit too, maybe I should put it on Ebay. I like how they say it's unopened, and then show a picture of the open box.

Like I said mine has a painted body, so I should, at the very least, get a quick $50 for it.... lol

Mine is untouched. I guess $200 buy it now would be about right!

To me, it looks like he has a sucker with no experience on the hook and either A. Has a second account or B. Has a buddy with an account to bid him up. Perfect example of an out of control bidding war.

Very true. In the last year I've been able to score at least half a dozen of my "holy grails," some of which I've been looking for for a decade or more.

Good. Maybe someone reported it. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see something is definitely amiss here. I WAS going to bid on it, but I’m going to pass.

I'm wondering the same thing. I've only had one bidder actually win one of my items with zero feedback. He paid immediately, and I had no problems. Got lucky, I guess.

Well it’s back up to $93.

Wow!!     I'm staying completely away from this one.....(phischy)

Weird. Most of the seller’s previous sales were fairly cheap and garnered positive feedback. I wouldn’t think this kit is worth $93 but looking, there aren’t any others on eBay, so, if two people really want it...sometimes this happens.

The last few sold on eBay for $20-35.

Hey, people buy empty kit boxes with a couple of junk parts thrown in for more than that.

How is a non registered user allowed to bid?

Not registered (now) because eBay kicked them out.  But the user info still remains for some time (so will their bids).
