vamach1 Posted February 23, 2020 Posted February 23, 2020 (edited) Great job on the cool cat. Are there clearance issues with the hor and air cleaner? I have had that problem with other kits. Edited February 23, 2020 by vamach1
espo Posted February 23, 2020 Posted February 23, 2020 Great looking Cougar. Good color pick and the finish is really nice. Nice clean looking detailing under hood and the interior.
Classicgas Posted February 23, 2020 Author Posted February 23, 2020 Thanks. Yeah not sure if it's the kits fault or mine. I will be paying attention on my next build of this kit.
cobraman Posted February 24, 2020 Posted February 24, 2020 Looks good. I have had those same hood fit problems.
Bills72sj Posted February 24, 2020 Posted February 24, 2020 Very nice Cougar. I would like to make a suggestion on the tail lights regarding the "dots" created by the pins. Cut the pins flush and remove the nubs with a hobby knife. (do not file or sand) Apply BMF to the back of the lenses THEN use Testors window maker to attach them to the rear panel.
Classicgas Posted February 24, 2020 Author Posted February 24, 2020 Thanks. Great suggestion Bill. I'll do that on the next one I do. I got one for Christmas and want to do it in Grabber Orange.
BeakDoc Posted February 25, 2020 Posted February 25, 2020 Beautiful. IMO the best looking vehicle ever offered by FoMoCo until the modern GTs came out.
donb Posted February 25, 2020 Posted February 25, 2020 Need to mention that the interior looks pretty darn good too. Nice job.
David G. Posted February 25, 2020 Posted February 25, 2020 Looks great! Your detail painting is very well done. It's a bummer about the hood fit though. What kit is this? It looks like one that I'd be interested in building. David G.
Classicgas Posted February 25, 2020 Author Posted February 25, 2020 Thanks. It's the AMT 69 Cougar Eliminator. I'm planning another and am going to work on the hood fit.
shoopdog Posted February 25, 2020 Posted February 25, 2020 Just curious Lee, does the hood fit flush with the air cleaner removed?
Classicgas Posted February 26, 2020 Author Posted February 26, 2020 Ive not tried that. Air cleaner is glues on. I'll be trying different things on the next one.
