This happened a few days ago. He's that crazy flat earther that wanted to get up to altitude to prove that he can see the "flat earth". Frankly that tiny rocked couldn't go high enough anyway. Looks like he went splat.

What the actual f***? I'm sure this will turn into some conspiracy where the government shot him down to protect the "globe lie".

I already heard that on the radio yesterday.

Kind of like the last two word from a redneck: "watch this" or "Oh sh!t". Here's s fitting "tribute".

I guess he's a flatter earther now

Man, that's wicked. Best laugh I've had in a long time.

Seriously though, I kinda have to hand it to the guy for having man-sized nads.

He went out doing something he thought was important, and was willing to risk his life for it.

There just aren't very many people around these days who are wired that way.

Yeah, I guess.

But I'd rather get splattered doing something than commit slow suicide siting in my very safe padded room eating chips and drinking beer until my heart exploded.  B)

This padded room has cable TV and a high-speed net connection, right? Assuming so, put me down for Plan B. (Also, I prefer Doritos.)

This is sad, really. He had made a few attempts at this before, but I have to think his motivation

may have been a paycheck from the Science Channel rather than proving anything.

Guess the Earth is still ROUND until the next conspiracy minded adventurer comes along.

There is always a curtain sadness when anyone gets killed even if it is sort of self inflicted. I guess the chute didn't work the way it was supposed to. I wonder if the Science  Channel is going to show this guy crashing ?

The Road Runner and all of his Acme equipment always made me laugh.

The Science Channel is a joke, with its ridiculous shows like Mysteries of the Abandoned, Bermuda Triangle, and other garbage. Now they have helped a crackpot kill himself in the quest for junk tv ratings. They should be ashamed of themselves.

I believe mis-wired is more accurate. There is a line between courage and madness. It's a fine line, but there is one.

Base jumping after years of skydiving training and experience. - Courage

Summiting Everest after years of training and experience. - Courgage

Shooting oneself into the air in a never-tested-before steam powered rocket built by amateurs in a garage. - Madness

Mike was so mad he went ballistic.

First time I've seen that term used correctly in years. Maybe decades. Respect! B)

And bonus points awarded for resisting the temptation to throw "literally" in there, too! B)B)

And the winner of the Darwin Award for Febuary 2020 is...

While this is  an excellent contender, we are only 2 months  into 2020 - there might be someone even crazier getting ready to compete for the award.  But I do have to admit that Mad Mike will be hard to beat. :)

Funny that you should bring up the Moon. "Mad Mike", according to unreliable sources, was planning a fact-finding lunar mission to find Alice Kramden.
