Funkychicken's build of the Monogram release of the GTO got me thinking about what happen to my original build of the Aurora GTO thinking I had thrown it away.  Then it dawned on me, I used a lengthened Aurora chassis and the engine under a Revell 1/24 GTO slot car body to make a hybrid (not that kind of hybrid) GTO model.  Revell issued a number of hard plastic bodies for slot cars and the Ferrari was better than the Aurora one in their kit.  The wheels were from the Monogram 250P kit.

Back in the day I was pretty pleased with it but this was long before more modern issues of the GTO arrived.

Gary, that is really nice.  You have also made me think, I have a mint Revell body, less glass, and a built Aurora GTO.  If we get locked down totally over here that is a project.

That looks good!  Like the racetrack setting too.  And the best thing, it's built!  I have 4 different brands in my stash.
