Shelby 427 1965 Posted April 7, 2020 Posted April 7, 2020 Hey all! This one I actually finished before the escort, but I forgot to upload it and these are all the pics I have. All comments much appreciated! Cheers Tomo
Monty Posted April 9, 2020 Posted April 9, 2020 Nice work! I don't know much about these cars but I saw something that made me curious. Would you care to speculate on why it has upturned exhaust tips?
89AKurt Posted April 9, 2020 Posted April 9, 2020 Came out really nice. I have that in my stash. I like your collection of cutaway drawings too!
Shelby 427 1965 Posted April 12, 2020 Author Posted April 12, 2020 Thanks so much for the comments everyone!! Regarding the exhausts... never known. Always thought it was cool though! Stay safe Tomo
Rich Chernosky Posted April 12, 2020 Posted April 12, 2020 Very nice job...that's one of the tougher Tamiya kits...you got it right.

doggie427 Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 Gorgeous Alfa Tomo. My favourite car in Gran Turismo for a while.
Funkychiken Posted April 19, 2020 Posted April 19, 2020 Its a stunning build, looks great with your other cars, and I like the shadow effect in your pics, looks moody!

Would you care to speculate on why it has upturned exhaust tips? very nice build of Larini's 1993 championship car! The upwards pointing exhaust tips were dropped for the following season so they must not have been succesful: my guess is that if under hard braking when the following car bumped an Alfa, the exhausts were squeezed which might have negatively influenced the flow of the exhaust fumes probably reduced engine poweer also. Moreover, it was necessary to protect the plastic bumpers with heat shields. This was only used in 1993 when Nicola Larini stormed the DTM and took the championship.
