She's done and looking ready to cruse on down to Santa Monica! This is the four door Supernatural Impala by AMT that I was originally planning on weathering, which would have been my first attempt! That didn't work out. I had an issue with the primer and also ended up changing the colour twice. It scared me off from messing around with it after stripping it back to the plastic, so instead, I did what I'm most comfortable with and that's factory fresh, or near enough. At the beginning, the kit went together quite well, until it was time to fit the completed interior into the body. Loads of fit issues, chunks of plastic had to be trimmed off the parcel shelf, dashboard, firewall etc, just to get the interior to fit. Because the floor is part of the interior it needs to sit behind the rocker panels. Also the front chassis legs need to fit on the locating pins of the front wheel tubs, but the completed front suspension on the chassis interferes with the wheel tubs, so they had to be trimmed too! Anyway, after all the fun and games I actually really enjoyed this build. I replaced the wheels with a nice set of Cragars but I had to slightly modify the hub fixings so they didn't wobble about. So there we are, a proper love/hate build this one. Loved the start, hated the middle and love the result:)That's two loves, which has to be a good thing!

Glad to see it finished! Sad to see you chickened ? on the weathering!  I was here for you! ?

haha! yeah, I bailed out there big time! I do appreciate your tips and will be calling on you for a future build, I really want to do a weathered car now. I'll just jump into it next time and try to not worry about it. Probably the best way to go about it.

Do you have a scrap body?  It’s best to experiment with something that doesn’t matter.   I did that originally. I had a Volare junker that was given to me on my club’s junk day.  It came out so well I built a project around it. Once it started to come out well, the guy who chucked it got upset that he had given it away...

Looks great, nicely done! Do you know the source of those Cragars? They're a nice touch here.

Thanks, Bill. They were in the 1970 Pontiac custom pick-up by MPC. I did the stock car and had these left over.

I have the Pontiac 2+2 I cut the roof off but I'm hoping I can fix that one day. I might have a go practising on that if I feel I can't fix it. Failed builds and parted out cars pop up on ebay all the time pretty cheaply, I could use one of those.
