This build dates back to the late 1990's ... as may be made obvious the paint style and colors.

JoHan '62 Chrysler 300 with much of the trim shaved off... Paint is Testor's MM enamels, though the exact shades now escape me.

Wheels and tires from Revell's Dodge Copperhead concept car kit.

Here is where the 300 "V" designation comes from... Viper V-10 from Revell's snapper.... Paint scheme is carried over into the engine compartment.

HI Marty!

Nice. Can't help it but love it.

Here's the same concept, but with a Johan 68. I also called it the 300V.

It's a small world...

Thanks, Claude....

Definitely looks like we were on the page.... I just wish  I was capable of achieving the level of finish that your builds always exhibit!

Hi Marty!

Your 62 pushes all the right buttons. Having been built circa '90, we see: pastel colours, cloth interior, massive V10 and Prowler rolling stock. Plus, it is based on an ultra-rare Johan 62.

A time capsule of sorts. What's not to like?

Keep on modeling. Hours of fun with styrene. That's the goal, no?

regards,

Nice one, a great period look to it. Although scary that the '90s is already that long ago.....

I've been thinking about doing the same thing with an AMT Viper I got cheaply just recently, and the MPC 1966/67 (I forget which) Charger I've had for a while - is the V10 much wider or longer than the V8?

The color layout is the main thing that dates this style, but it still looks great. The concept with the V-10 engine is valid even today.

Hi Nigel!

The Charger has a fairly spacious engine compartment. The usual problem is that the K-Member/steering linkage interferes with the oil pan. Other than that, not much of an event...

Thanks Claude, I'll give it a go at some point soon - that Charger has been sitting on the shelf for too long.

Looks great, Marty! Really like the wheels and the colour concept! Love to see these Viper engines in a 60s Mopar! Did that with my 63 Fury:

And the 65 Imperial I'm currently building will have one, too!

Those are all amazing builds. Each one is a build to be proud of.

Marty, be happy that you have something built from the 90's that still exists in such great shape. I have been building for years and did so back in that time period. My problem was that because my build time was so limited and I never stayed on one project to completion, I have nothing to show from back then. Sure wish I had finished some from back in the day.
