Length is 19,2cm for both 71 Mustangs, so I guess "1:24" is just a typo...

I guess so.  Even the Revell 2023 catalog has this “error” which is odd.

Both the place marker cards for 71 say 1:25.
The Bond box is only 1:24. April listed for Boss on placard.

Ed confirmed the 1:24 is incorrect.  I guess the new date for the Boss is April and the Mach1 in September.  Anyone want to bet if there will be an Eleanor version next year?

The widow is still squeezing every nickel out of Halicki estate, so prob $ too much.

So long as it's a 'generic' 1971-with-1973-cosmetics Mustang Sportroof, and nothing is mentioned ad hom. on the kit's box nor its marketing, she has z-e-r-o ground to stand on.

There have been plenty of diecasts done in 1/64, 1/43 and 1/18 so that should not be an issue.  She also lost the lawsuit against Shelby for the Foose Eleanor custom Mustang.

Do I understand correctly that Shelby American spent some time in court reminding her that the latest Eleanor was a GT500 first?

Whomever made the box mock-up probably marked it as 1/24th for consistency since the other kits in the RoG Bond series are 1/24th.

I seem to recall that you are correct, Chuck. IIRC, the reminder had some Zero's attached to help the lesson stick.

You are correct about the details I cannot recall ever seeing such as a rev limiter and voltage regulator, etc. in a kit before.  The only downside is now what am I going to do with all my AMT and MPC Mustang kits. ?

Not that crazy of an idea.  The chassis and engines in the AMT and MPC kits are either wrong or carry overs from kits that five-six years before 71-73 which means zero 1/25 351 Clevelands or a 429CJ.  Of course most of the 71-73s in this picture are coupes.

To replicate a Mustang coupe, one could use the MPC 1973 Cougar top? Looks the same at first glance...

The Cougar top is the same as the Mustang coupe top in 1:1. I have seen some conversions, and owned a resin one from the Detroit guys, and there's something a bit off when the two are melded (I think the Mustang may be a bit undersized). A new resin or 3D print based off the Revell body would be welcome!

True, things are a bit off. Back in 1991, I bashed an MPC 71/73 Mustang with an MPC 73 Cougar to replicate a friend's real-life 72 Mustang Grande. Was the best I could do at the time.

I started with the Cougar body, replaced the entire front clip, hood and front fenders with the Mustang pieces, and sliced the rear ends off to line things up. Finally, added strips on the doors to replicate that character line.

If I were to ever do it again, I'd prolly just swap the entire greenhouse.

Really looking forward to this amazing Mustang kit, and I do have a spare Cougar body kicking around. A much better Grande conversion could be on my horizon.

It looks a little darker than Grabber Blue.

Looks closer to Acapulco blue but that's supposed to be a metallic color.

Probably just one of the standard Revell paint colors.

That is what I was thinking as well.

Any updates out there regarding when this kit might be available?

Last update I've seen is Mid-June for the Euro release.  With the '71 442, kits were available in both boxings within a week or so of each other.  Revell had a display somewhere in Europe over the weekend - believe it was the UK - where they were advertising all of the Bond kits to be released later this year, so this version of the Mustang has to get moving or it's going to be lapped by the Bond reissue.
