As a lot of you probably know, I've been trying to assemble all of the American made cars for each year of the 1950's.  I use plastic kits, resin kits, rebuilt and detailed promos, and diecasts for cars that weren't made in kit or promo form.  The first year that I've been able to complete so far is 1956.

This is the first "group"......  Several pictures of each car... Buick (an AMT promo),  Cadillac (a Modelhaus resin kit).

I still have to take pictures of the Corvette, Lincoln and Thunderbird to complete this group...  Stay tuned......  also for additional completed years.  Thanks for looking in on this.

Instead of replying to all your posts I'll say it all here . . .

Such a great project and I've enjoyed watching your progress building the cars from the 50's , the greatest decade for style and design innovations !    Excellent job !  I'm a bit surprised that "56 is the only year you've completed , I would have bet you finished more . :)

Bob, I've also pretty much completed the cars for 1958, with the exception of Desoto.  I just haven't posted pictures of them in groups as yet.  I also have 5 cars done for 1950, 7 for 1953, 2 for 1954, 10 for 1955, 12 for 1957, and 8 for 1959.  I still have to complete all of those years and then post those groups together.  It's quite a daunting project to complete, but it is a lot of fun.  Also, finding and/or making room to display them all is a project unto itself.

Great seeing these posts, very nice builds. Quite the task to complete such an inventory but well worth it. I want to do something similar with Pontiacs, one from each year.

Beautiful builds, both of them. I'm going to enjoy looking through these. I'm sure that there will be a lot of " Why don't the model companies make a detailed kit of ____ model?" I already wish we could get one of both of these two.
