camaro69 Posted January 17, 2021 Posted January 17, 2021 Hi fellow modelers, a long time project is finally done. I designed grilles for the 1/24 scale kits of the Chevy Blazer and the GMC Pickups from Monogram and Revell. I did three model years for both and they are now available at my shapeways shop. https://www.shapeways.com/shops/ra-sti-acute-s-scale-accessories Here some pics of the painted test prints I ordered to make sure they´ll fit. They are all open and made out of six seperate parts (grill housing, grill insert, headlight lenses and turn signal lenses). I added a seperate lens of each if one gets broken or lost. Best regards, Rico
vincen47 Posted January 17, 2021 Posted January 17, 2021 Nice selection. Opens up lots of possibilities. Thanks!
camaro69 Posted January 26, 2021 Author Posted January 26, 2021 Hey guys, orders have been cancelled. I had to rework the sprues. Did this today and will upload the new models this evening. Rico
Plowboy Posted January 27, 2021 Posted January 27, 2021 (edited) Those look nice! You should consider doing various grilles for the AMT/MPC '84 GMC "Deserter" kit also. A Chevy tailgate and front bumper without turn signals would also be nice to have. Another idea: since Round2 is releasing the '72 Chevy pickup, a correct grille plus the '69-'70 grille. 89AKurt Posted January 27, 2021 Posted January 27, 2021 Should be a popular thing! I like the '67-'72 Custom series, but I know Square bodies are popular. I can promote you on the Chevy truck forum if you're wanting it.
camaro69 Posted January 27, 2021 Author Posted January 27, 2021 Thank you guys. Ideas are always welcome although my spare time is still very limited and many requests are left to fullfil. On the other hand I want to give it a try and take part on the CBR to build and finish at least one model kit this year. It´s been a very long time since my last finished build.
lizardlust Posted February 6, 2021 Posted February 6, 2021 I just received my order for the 73/74 Chevy grille. Fast, safe shipping and a beautifully rendered item - highly recommended!!!
8891suburbanresin Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 Hey I am looking to design one of my truck. But I have a 1991 GMC suburban which is still the squarebody but the front end was redesigned. Anybody know where I can get one for that truck?
Jordan White Posted February 16, 2021 Posted February 16, 2021 I don't know of anyone who has done the '89-'91 grille yet. Your best bet would be to modify a grille from the 90s C1500 kit.

Ryan at Z-force was supposed to be working on one in 1/25 but I don't know if he got it finished or not.

Hi Rico, just checked out your grilles on Shapeways. Fantastic work! I am in the process of gathering parts to build a friends late fathers 77 Scottsdale. Funny, I was just about to start cutting the center out of the grill due to the truck having a hand made tube grill insert. Any chance you would make a tube grill insert for these Chevy/ GMC grills in the future? That would be awesome! IMHO!

Saltie Olds Posted June 27, 2022 Posted June 27, 2022 Don’t remember when, but I ordered his ‘72 to ‘78 Dodge truck hood and his ‘77/‘78 Dodge truck grille as well. I’m really happy with what I got and will not posting pictures of it, when I start working on my Monogram Ramcharger.

I cut the doors to be for doors meant for a ‘74.

Its kind of funny how things go. I am the one that asked Rico to design the hood and grill for the Ramcharger/Trailduster a few years ago. I hated the 80 grill/hood and wanted something different and had no way of doing it myself. Several years later and I am designing and selling stuff myself. Rico does awesome work and I am very thankful for his efforts in making these great grills and hoods. He also does other cool stuff for other kits. @camaro69 If you want to work on the Chevy truck grills, go for it. I know you can do a great job on them, and create a great product. I am not sure how soon I will get to them.
