Here's my Apollo 12 Vette built from a R of G '69 Corvette kit using a few pieces from a '67 Vette (wheels and some engine parts). I had to fabricate outer sills as the kit comes with sidepipes, and added some exhaust tips from aluminium tubing cut to shape. Paint is Tamiya Gold with a hint of Yellow Pearl over the top. The real car was leased for $1 by Al Bean, the Lunar Module Pilot, hence the LMP xii licence plate.

I've also thought of building one of the astronaut Vettes but never got around to it. Well done I's glad that someone did one of them. A recent Corvette Magazine did an article on Gus Grissom's 1965 Glen Green Vette, maybe I'll do that one. Again, I like what you've done with this '69 kit.

I remember the astronauts driving Corvettes in the movie Apollo 13, but I never knew it was a "thing". Now I have to do the research on them.

Great job on it, and cool inspiration!

I read about the "Apollo" Corvette, when I did some research for my project "Silver Corvette Collection". Now I'm happy, to see one! I'd never recognize, that there where sidepipes at all. You did a good job on the change to  "stock". Like it!
