Hi all,

picked these up at an opportunity shop but no idea what scale or manufacturer they are?
Models are almost 16 inches long. They appear to be kits as you can see where body panels have been glued together and seam lines in the engine blocks etc.

Mercedes, Porsche 911, Pontiac Tras Am and Ford Mustang Mach 1.

all in ‘barn find’ condition with many of the rubber tyres melted or thoroughly rotted. If I knew the scale etc this might help with building options and replacement parts etc.

any help at all would be greatly appreciated

thanks for reading!

Looks to be big scale, 1:12 or something like that and the feeling I get is that they are manufactured in Asia.
I know Otaki and Doyusha issued 71 Mustang and 73 Firebird Mercedes and Porsche 911 kits in 1:12 scale, so I believe these can be Otaki kits and they were reboxed and also  issued under the  Doyusha name.

That's exactly what they are.

Aside from the junkyard diorama idea you may be able to part them out.  The Mustang has two piece wheels with the outer half made of metal which is unusual for that scale.  Unfortunately the tires tended to dry out and crumble as shown in your pictures.

Otaki also had a Lamborghini Countach in 1:12 scale.  I've built it, and the Corvette. I don't have either anymore, but I do have unbuilt Countach kit (reboxed as Testors).

I suspect that those "barn find"  models spent some time in a rather hot environment (like an attic, or a shed exposed to sunlight).  Heat seems to deform and dry out the material those are made from.  My Lambo is packed in the cool basement and I suspect its tires are still fine.

If you need to know the scale, look up the specs for the car in question, such as length and divide by the length of the model.
