Mad Slammer Posted May 12, 2021 Posted May 12, 2021 Hi... I started this about 10 or so years ago, had an accident with the body then lost interest and finally humidity messed up the paint. So, Last year I started a rebuild, changed some things and here’s where we are at now...
Tom Geiger Posted May 12, 2021 Posted May 12, 2021 Ok, this is way cool! And the construction shots really tell the story!
Luis Ayala Posted May 12, 2021 Posted May 12, 2021 Great Job on this one brother!!! A ton of work to get there... but really rewarding in the end. Once all is glued and painted sometimes is hard to tell how much work was put into it... ?

NOBLNG Posted May 13, 2021 Posted May 13, 2021 I take it the blue paint pic is from before the rebuild? I like the wood bed and the tail lights. Very nice!?

Mad Slammer Posted May 13, 2021 Author Posted May 13, 2021 Well , had a dejavú kind of thing last night... Same thing happened again, the body of the model fell from my hand landing on the right windshield post... it was a clean break as it broke on the same spot as before. After some nasty words a some swearing, I glued it back on and will try to blend it back and give it a fresh coat of paint. Good thing was it wasn’t cleared yet so it might work out... Also did some work on the interiors...
Claude Thibodeau Posted May 13, 2021 Posted May 13, 2021 Hi Roberto! Very interesting concept. I can see this truck on the floor at the SEMA show! CT
Mad Slammer Posted May 15, 2021 Author Posted May 15, 2021 Fixed most of the damage on the windshield post... Then repainted the whole thing and cleared it after a couple of hours... Turned out nice... it’ll do for now...
bobthehobbyguy Posted May 15, 2021 Posted May 15, 2021 Love it. Great concept. Well done. Lots of nice fabrication work, What was the source for the frame?

Thanks... It’s been so long I’m not really sure but... I think it has parts from the sidewinder show truck but mainly the front part of the frame only and the floorboard... everything else is either fabbed or kitbashed... engine is from the Chezoom detailed kit and the rear en día from the parts box...
Mad Slammer Posted May 16, 2021 Author Posted May 16, 2021 (edited) Quick mock up to check the fit so far... Edited May 16, 2021 by Mad Slammer
1930fordpickup Posted May 16, 2021 Posted May 16, 2021 Scrolling through the pictures and there is the body painted black, I did not see that coming. The grill is a total fit or this corn-binder body. Great job on this.

It turned out better than I expected... thanks again...
Mad Slammer Posted May 18, 2021 Author Posted May 18, 2021 Did some work on the interior... the metal on the dash and console are refills from an industrial staple bending machine... wish I could find some more in other sizes ?
misterNNL Posted May 19, 2021 Posted May 19, 2021 Great overall concept. I never ever liked the original vehicles but this is very cool. This will be an enjoyable project to follow to completion.
Mad Slammer Posted May 19, 2021 Author Posted May 19, 2021 Just checking that everything still fits... Getting closer, maybe I’ll finish it by this weekend...
