landman Posted June 21, 2021 Posted June 21, 2021 As some of you know, I moved recently. We are getting pretty well settled, some 3 months after we started packing. The display case I had bought at a flea market wouldn't go around the bend at the bottom of the stairs so I ended up cutting off the bottom at the arrow. Then using segments of our old bedposts, parts of a 2x4 and some melamine scraps., I made it some legs, a false bottom and a bit of a valance.

espo Posted June 21, 2021 Posted June 21, 2021 I would keep it white since that will better show your models. A suggestion one color. I have a couple of book shelf type cabinets that I have used for years. The walls in my model room were a light beige color and I panted the inside and the shelf tops to match. I thought it looked good. Like you we just moved and I have to set them up when the new space gets done. The colors in homes now are different shades of "Battleship Gray" so I guess that's what I'll be doing next.
landman Posted June 21, 2021 Author Posted June 21, 2021 They say history repeats itself. Well, the elm two drawer cabinet wound up underneath the electrical panel here too. Let's hope it is a good omen.
1930fordpickup Posted June 21, 2021 Posted June 21, 2021 As always Pat ,this looks good. Are you in the same town, or did you move south to the warm weather.

landman Posted June 21, 2021 Author Posted June 21, 2021 Most of the trucks are unpacked. There was some damage but not that much. Mostly parts that fell off rather than broke off.
slusher Posted June 22, 2021 Posted June 22, 2021 Great that your getting setup, Pat. I really like you model display shelves… 1
Oldcarfan27 Posted June 22, 2021 Posted June 22, 2021 Great display of trucks there. Nothing common about any of 'em. 1
landman Posted June 22, 2021 Author Posted June 22, 2021 The dios are coming back together as the stuff reappears. Currently working on the Dynos. Decided to switch the engine from a twin turbo Cummins to a Detroit V12.

NYLIBUD Posted July 1, 2021 Posted July 1, 2021 Love the dios.Oh man my work area is scary.I Really need to get more organized.
landman Posted July 8, 2021 Author Posted July 8, 2021 Finished with the engines. Looks like I will have to stop building them soon.
landman Posted July 21, 2021 Author Posted July 21, 2021 About half a dozen left to fix and that part is done. Should be able to get on with current projects soon.
Paul Payne Posted July 21, 2021 Posted July 21, 2021 If you have to move, the biggest no no is to let the movers pack your models. They just don't get how fragile they are.

You'd think that after 30 years in my forties I'd know better.
Paul Payne Posted July 22, 2021 Posted July 22, 2021 For me, that would qualify as a senior moment!? 1
landman Posted July 29, 2021 Author Posted July 29, 2021 The dios are back together. Now the story of FTB can continue.
