doorsovdoon Posted June 21, 2021 Posted June 21, 2021 AMT kit with very confusing instructions. Some of the sprues have numbers and some don't, but the ones with numbers are probably from an older release and don't correspond to the ones on the instructions! It even says so on the sheet and instead uses a sketched layout of the sprues that you have to cross reference with the construction drawings! To add more confusion, some of the parts on the trees are not used, and some that are are not shown. If that isn't enough, there are quite a few fit issues to work around too! The pipes under the cab have to be dry fitted to find the right position for the next piece, otherwise by the time you get to the end, what was out by a mm will be out by a cm at the end of it all and the cab won't sit flat! Anyway, very nice looking and detailed kit and comes with very nice decals, though I chose to do my own paint scheme based off an old dealership painting. If you like a challenge I can honestly recommend it. It's far from a bad kit and once you have most of the sub assembly done, the hard part is out of the way.

1959scudetto Posted June 22, 2021 Posted June 22, 2021 You built an excellent rig, Gareth, from a not-so-easy-to-build kit !

I'm just finishing up a semi trailer to post in under glass. I haven't done a WIP on it as there's not much to show, it's just a plastic box really. You'll like the next build I have coming up, the MPC Dodge Charger, a real dog of a kit apparently but I'm looking forward to it.
kilrathy10 Posted July 3, 2021 Posted July 3, 2021 That is a fantastic build... Excellent work... The paint scheme is awesome... Very nice...
Jonathan Posted July 6, 2021 Posted July 6, 2021 Really nice work on this. I only have one "big rig" in my stash, and it's this kit - I'm hoping to do a better job that I did when I was a kid. You've really created a fine presentation.
doorsovdoon Posted July 9, 2021 Author Posted July 9, 2021 Thanks guys, really enjoyable build this one.
