kymdlr Posted June 27, 2021 Posted June 27, 2021 Got this as an eBay junk kit, working on salvaging it and going for an artist image i found.
kymdlr Posted June 27, 2021 Author Posted June 27, 2021 The purple bird is the look I’m going for. Not a factory color but I love it. I removed and filled an extra fluid tank that didn’t need to be there & detailed the dash. Drilled out the molded gauges and placed printed aftermarket gauges on clear plastic.
David G. Posted June 27, 2021 Posted June 27, 2021 Excellent work on this so far! Great color choice too. David G.
Classicgas Posted June 27, 2021 Posted June 27, 2021 Cool. Since it's not a factory stock build, it doesn't need to be a factory stock color.
espo Posted June 27, 2021 Posted June 27, 2021 You have come a long way with this build. The paint work looks great and I like your interior restoration.
kymdlr Posted July 9, 2021 Author Posted July 9, 2021 (edited) Added side windows, finished the BMF trim & created the exhaust from solder. The rear end is the kit piece removed from the one piece plastic exhaust. The original decals for the nose were too old to save so I masked off the black area & added a little parking light detail. Modlbldr Posted July 10, 2021 Posted July 10, 2021 Beautiful work! I like the non stock color idea. Your dash gauges look great too! This is going to be a sweet build. It's funny how certain kits manage to keep working their way back into my stash. I've had two or three of these kits over the years and got one to the final stages before losing interest. I just managed last month to finally give it away and two days ago I ended up having one given to me that looks just about how this one looked when you got it. Maybe I need to redo it and get it across the finish line. Later-
doorsovdoon Posted July 10, 2021 Posted July 10, 2021 That's looking really good, awesome detail on the front nose clip and I love the colour. Very very nice.
Superbird McMonte Posted July 25, 2021 Posted July 25, 2021 I just found this one! I don’t know how I missed it. ? It’s looking good so far!
kymdlr Posted July 25, 2021 Author Posted July 25, 2021 This one is almost done. Still need to add the wing, some exhaust tips, door handles and a couple small things. Debating on if I want to detail a motor so for now it’s curbside.
