1959scudetto
Once again 2 oldies from about 1985 - I have them still in my collection: Monogram 1/24 Chevrolet Corvette in 2 versions: The first one is straight out of the box : interior unpainted, body brush-painted with Humbrol clear gloss directly onto the bare plastic, the side coves with Humbrol gloss white, trim is silver paint: The second underwent some modifications to turn it into some kind of traffic light racer: wheels and tires are custom parts from amt's '56 Ford Victoria, hood has been cut out for an additional blower, exhaust pipes from the parts box, roll bar and wheelie-bars are homemade, body color is sprayed from a rattle-can as is the semigloss black interior. Decals come from the spare parts box ("409" is fake - it has the stock small-block Chevy engine: Here are the two together - the street machine will get a respray someday - the decals show bubbles and the small sponsor decals I don't like anymore - will look a bit more tasteful when done (I hope!)

espo
The both still look fresh with great looking paint and cleanly detailed. This wasn't the easiest kit to build to this standard either.
rob1957
Hi Helmut . This is in our build line up . I'm sure this kit is the same as you mention , molded in red plastic. Very nice paint job on the red 'vette . Wish our builds came out that glossy.

I wouldn't touch a model before that, but when a very miffed me who was supposed to have off that day from work (a Saturday) saw that it was pouring down raining outside......I went to the local hobby shop and that's what I came home with back then. I made a real mess of the kit, but as they say......."The rest is history".

ATHU
Beautiful work on both of them Helmut!! I remember having built one of those as a young teen back in the 70's, it's long gone and probably looked horrible...😄
