jjsipes Posted July 6, 2021 Posted July 6, 2021 Been thinking about getting this kit out to start. Wanted something different than Black although the truck does look good in Black. Decided on how I wanted to paint it but wasn't sure how to get what I wanted. Placed an order to ScaleFinishes and commenced to painting. Started with Rustoleum 2x white primer and then Scalefinishes HOK Tangelo and some clear. Was worried with different paint lines reacting with one another. So far, so good. These pictures were prior to clear.
Zippi Posted July 6, 2021 Posted July 6, 2021 (edited) Man that color is striking. I'm diggin it. Edited July 6, 2021 by Zippi
RichCostello Posted July 7, 2021 Posted July 7, 2021 I think I'd forget the clear, and keep that satin finish. It looks cool like that.

I was finishing up my 67 Nickey Camaro and was letting the paint dry good on this. It's in the queue to finish up. Sometimes I don't get much time to work on models with life with 2 kids 10 and under, a wife that works 8-13 hours a day at the local post office and what little work I have. I'm itching to work on it though.
jjsipes Posted July 17, 2021 Author Posted July 17, 2021 Made a little progress tonight on my truck. Got it cleared last week, started painting interior. Detailed the bed floor tonight
Zippi Posted July 17, 2021 Posted July 17, 2021 Yeah I thought the clear would really make it pop and it did. Man that look good Jason.
espo Posted July 18, 2021 Posted July 18, 2021 Killer looking color and finish. The interior is a nice contrast.
jjsipes Posted July 19, 2021 Author Posted July 19, 2021 Got some touch up to do but more progress today. Got the engine painted and mounted. Took a little page out of Dave Kindig's book and painted the engine to match the interior. Looking for something different, kinda like it. Had some Orange plug wire in my stash and had just enough.
Zippi Posted July 19, 2021 Posted July 19, 2021 Nice looking. I think that color works. I watch Bitchin Rides all the time. I think his shop puts out top notch rides.
Modlbldr Posted July 19, 2021 Posted July 19, 2021 What a beautiful looking Ford! That color is amazing!! Nice work. Later-
64Comet404 Posted July 19, 2021 Posted July 19, 2021 I love the ideas and colour choices on the FD-100, great work. I plan to paint mine in a similar shade to what Sam Foose used on the original 1970's build, but with some of your ideas on matching the interior and engine colours.
jjsipes Posted July 19, 2021 Author Posted July 19, 2021 Got the interior completed. Really not much to this kit. Testors Randome Tan with Clear Bark embossing powder for carpeting.
jjsipes Posted July 20, 2021 Author Posted July 20, 2021 Got it finished last night. Outdoor pictures coming in the Under Section later today.
jjsipes Posted July 20, 2021 Author Posted July 20, 2021 Completed pictures posted in Under Glass now. Thanks everyone that has commented thus far. 1
