Snake45
Caesar, if you've pre-darkened all those panel lines with a black Sharpie or something of the kind, I'd recommend you get some rubbing alcohol and wipe that all off. It turns out that Sharpie ink will, over the course of time, migrate up through whatever paint is put over it and appear on the surface. I know, it sounds weird/impossible, but I've seen several very nice models (not mine) that were eventually ruined by this.Β
Ceaser_Salad
Yes I do know that, it was there just so I could make sure things lined up when I put the two halves together. Thanks though I preshaded with some Mission models black.Β Edited October 23, 2021 by Ceaser_Salad

Keef
Made a little bit of progress. Considering the replica Iβm doing was built almost 40 years ago I think Iβm remembering it like I built it.Β

Cool Hand
Bit of progress. Got the frame fitted into the body, needed to get the engine location worked out before I can do the suspension. So got that sorted,Β made some engine mounts and also a new gear box mount.Β Β
Mattilacken
Nice idea and many nice builds! At some point I should tag along and make either this big block Camaro or a old β66 charger I built. The Camaro was built around 2004 when I was at college. Keef
Calling it done! When I built it as a kid I used the centerline wheels from the βHeavy Chevyβ Chevelle kit and used yellow sewing thread for plug wires. This one turned out quite a bit better than the other one.

I had a friend from school who built it. For some reason I recall the shifter being in reverse? I aquired one of these in a collection of build ups... it's badly built but I think I can save it. Jantrix
This is a terrific build off. Great idea. If I was more involved in building right now I'd jump in myself with a Johan '63 Olds. Keep it going guys.
Jantrix
I've decided that I'm gonna try to in on this one if you'll have me. The AMT 40 Ford Coupe is a favorite from childhood. I built and rebuilt it a few times before settling on a nice hot rod painted with Testors sapphire blue. I'm going to try to replicate it using mostly parts from the box.Β

Mopeyguy
If its not to late i would like to throw my hat,,, errr,,, "Kit" into the ring. I bought it the first week of October not sure if it would arrive in time and just arrived at the Post Office today. If ending time is March 15 i think it gives me enuff time to put this together. Replicating a car i built back in late 1979Β as a young teen of 15. I had entered it into my first model car contest. Rule was you had to buy the kit from the hobby shop, 3 classes were offered and i choose box stock. I ended up winning best paint and i vividly recall all the others being so surprised a young kid could paint so good. Mind you with the help of my father i had already bought and owned a 1970 Vega by that time and had completed the body restoration on it and was finishing building a 350 for it, so i had some auto building experience's already...

Spottedlaurel
If I can get another couple of current WIPs off the bench in the next 2-3 weeks then I'll be up for joining in. With the Christmas holiday coming up I should be able to get some decent time on it. Question is, do I keep it simple by going for one of several Tamiya Hondas I built back in the '80s, probably over the course of a weekend complete with Humbrol brush-painted bodywork, or challenge myself a bit more with a NASCAR Regal? Only just remembered I have another issue of the latter, and it certainly feels like one that I have unfinished business with.
