steveracer Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 Built this a little while ago, and just cleaned up and finished the convertible top. Showing off my new photo area too....? Box stock, Testors red out of a can, rubbed out. A very basic kit but builds up real easy. 1
happy grumpy Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 Beautiful vette Steve. I like the background too. It puts the car in context.
espo Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 Great clean looking build and I like the stance.
AMT68 Posted December 7, 2021 Posted December 7, 2021 Very nice buiild and backdrop. Is that an asphalt roof shingle representing the paved area?

Thanks everyone. AMT68 that is a rejected OEM non-slip part from the mobility ramp from those ugly MV-1 vehicles from about 7 years ago! Our company built those ramps. Basically any non slip stick on part will do. Maybe available from Granger? also I will do a quickie build up on the background in dioramas in the next day or two. It is not complete but good enough for now! Edited December 8, 2021 by steveracer
TransAmMike Posted December 8, 2021 Posted December 8, 2021 Nice work Steve, a red 'Vette is always a winner?
Zippi Posted December 10, 2021 Posted December 10, 2021 Nice looking little 63 Vette. I like the toned down red color. Looks more like they did back in the day.
Snake45 Posted December 10, 2021 Posted December 10, 2021 VERY clean OOB build. That Testor really looks the part of '63 Roman Red. Well done and model on!

steveracer Posted December 11, 2021 Author Posted December 11, 2021 Hey guys thanks for the kudos - especially on the paint. I sprayed it and let it sit for several months - almost s year before I got back to the build. I did not have to sand it at all but used the 3 part Novus polishing scheme careful not to go through the paint on the sharp features. I rarely if ever clear my models unless I have to seal decals or something. I got pretty lucky with this one. I built a brushed blue one as a kid so I had fun reliving my childhood.
