I think the '63 convertible Chevy ll was an only one year deal for chevy.... I  could be wrong....

There was a '62 convertible also.  AMT made a kit.

I'm wondering if the gasser parts could be tweaked to fit under an AMT or Revell '67 Camaro...maybe do something like the old AMT annual box art kit.

Yes, that. I have that box, but it's empty...

I have the box full of random leftover '67 Camaro parts, and maybe some other stuff. Also have two glue bomb AMT annual '67 Camaros to be rebuilt, someday....

Now that the hardtop snd 2 door post are out, I’m waiting and keeping my eyes peeled so I can build this. From Martin Brothers in Austin Texas.

Original held up well.

Indeed it does. I just finished bringing an original AMT '62 back from the dead. Looking forward to putting a Moebius on the shelf next to it.

Maybe it's the angle of the photos. But, it looks like the roof on the AMT kit is a bit taller. Would you mind taking some measurements of both to compare? It also looks like the cowl has very light engraving on the vents and the windshield trim.

The tires in the new kit are pretty meh....tiny, skinny, no whitewalls.  Have to find better tires in my parts box.  The kit looks good overall, though.  On second check, the tires do appear about the same size as the ones in the recent AMT '63 Chevy II wagon kits..

The tires on the 1:1 stock Nova are small and narrow.  We're used to seeing altered cars with a bit more rubber on them.  The first change I made on my Fairlane was to switch from 13" tires and wheels to 14".  I have since gone to 15".

New one looks wider? Gerry, could you lay the '62 hood on the '63 body and vice versa? Curious to see how close they match.

The window opening on the AMT is about .508-.510". The window opening on the Moebius is right around .500", measuring to the underside of the drip rail, disregarding the slight ledge underneath.

Also note in the above picture that the Moebius C-pillar is visibly wider front-to back than the AMT. I need to look at a bunch of pics of real ones to see which one looks closer. It's not a deal-breaker, but something I'll correct if it turns out to need it.

ETA: Here's the best profile shot I could find of a real '64 HT. Whose C-pillars look closest to you, AMT's or Moebius's?

To me, the AMT Nova's C pillar looks more accurate. How much wider is the C pillar on the Moebius Nova?

Something else that looks different (and may be due to the photos) is the front fender and the wheel opening. Both look longer on the Moebius kit.

I am thrilled to have the '64 Nova...BUT!   I have to say AMT's whole greenhouse is closest to the 1:1 photo Snake posted!

I too noticed the difference in shape of the front wheel opening, but wasn't saying anything yet. But since you brought it up, looks like AMT got this shape right, and Moebius isn't quite as accurate.

Hood interchange between Moebius and AMT.  AMT has a tab in the middle of the hood that appears to keep it from sliding forward, so won't lay down as well (and I am not cutting that tab off)

THX! Gerry .......most informative & I'm sticking to my opinion of the greenhouse differences.

Very cool pics, thanks!

I think that tab on the AMT hood is for the C-clip, very common back in the day.

I have another AMT '62 to build, a glue bomb former custom. Had some tricky glue damage from the fender skirts to repair but I think I've finally got that sorted out. It'll be a mid-'60s "high school hot rod" with a 6-banger, probably Moon hubcaps. I was hoping to have it done before the Moebius kits appeared, too, but didn't quite gitter done.

Oh, BTW, for those who liked my orange '62 above, I now have it posted Under Glass:

Picked my pair up today, they look pretty good!

My shop said this is one of the best selling kits they have ever gotten in.  They have had to reorder twice.

From the looks of some of the extra parts in this kit (4barrel carb/manifold, traction bars, 4 speed console) it seems like a street machine version might happen in the future. Anybody know if this is a possibility?
