Its been a while since I worked on model (6 months) and this one has been calling my name since it arrived so its top of the pile. I'll be building it mostly out of the apart from a severe slamming and wheel swap. I'm not sure about colour yet but it probably wont be an audi colour and to add some interest to the interior I'll be doing it with red seats as otherwise it would be a sea of black. These pics are from the alpha model website and I've included a couple of inspiration pics too610277998d3a5.jpg.c2273368a1ac40f57083b60f41674b2c.jpg6102779a286f2.jpg.c4121da1919cd567bf835df54bd98aee.jpg6102779abd5c6.jpg.32734fee0ddc8c1d730c1d1aa8535954.jpg0D5A1495.jpg.8b55939014b81d289366b877d679638b.jpg0D5A1499.jpg.deaa70b55fd30b7e62469cfce4e88dbe.jpg

Going by the inspiration pics that sounds like a great plan, cool to see something different.  Dont see many Euro Stanced.

Well I finally got started on this. As is normal I started by playing with some wheel options

I like the racing harts and rotiforms but in the end I went for hre look rims from one of the aoshima r35lbw kits

The biggest job on this is the stance as out of the box it could pass as a off roader and thats just not my thing. Luckily there is enough resin under the body and interior parts to grind loads away. On the inner part I have enlarged and deepened the wheel arch to get it low

5.JPG.5f04b8684ab94336ef68a94e5eb7cfa6.JPG

but as you can see it is sitting too far back into the arch. To remedy this i carefully thinned the the inner arch on the body, making sure the edge was thinned to pull the wheel out into the arch. You can see how far out it has moved on the rotiform more than the racing harts6.JPG.234dd698007e538079ff6bece9e265aa.JPG3.JPG.53c70f158c503002d605bea86598bd7e.JPG

Next up is to do the fronts and other side at the rear. I'll get a pic of the stock stance before I start grinding it. I've lowered it around 1/4 inch so far and I think the rear will sit a touch lower once the fronts are done DSC06801.JPG.88ac355fb4910b5f02d91f1eb0b63eb1.JPG

Audi in the early noughties had some awesome colours, RS2 blue is among them.
I’m keen to see this one finished as I also have a soft spot for rowdy wagons

They had some pretty cool ones up to the b7 audi rs, now its black grey or silver. I think I'm going for something with lots of pearl for this though

Cool subject, I'll be watching.   I will beg off getting one, would be tempted to rally it.

I was very close to using the white and yellow colour scheme

I think that will be a cool look…

It would if it was a lower model of audi, the arches of the rs would mean a lot of the yellow would just be pin stipes so a lot of the rally look would be gone. Here it is on non rs saloon of the same age. On the rs the arches would be pumped out and a lot of the look would be lost imo. But it would work really well on something I already have planned.... a rally audi r8!!!

Far out thats some chunky resin. The things we do to get them low.

The mock stance looks just right.

I cant help but think and wonder how these wheels would look under it. Only bring them up as the yellow 1:1 on the 5 spokes in your opening post looks sweet.

I've got a set of them but thy're earmarked for a mercedes vip build. Besides I've already painted the rims of the hre's orange to help the carbon coated centres stand out so I guess I'll be having an orange interior now instead of the red. And the hre's are a staggered fittment so should look even wider now they aint one colour
