doorsovdoon Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 Other than the annoying lack of decals or whitewalls this is a lovely little kit by AMT. Comes with an opening trunk with spare wheel, bumper jack, and a wheel wrench. I used some more realistic looking wheels from my spares and shaved down one of the hub cap so it can fit the wheel after the "brakedown" shots, lol. Another small mod I did was fit a better looking rad support from the '60 Starliner, that kit comes with two rad supports for some reason. Also added some heater hoses and an interior mirror. No fit issues at all, very good kit. 2
Cool Hand Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 Good job on all the detail work, looks to be a great kit. Cool little scene you set up with the wheel change over. And of course I really like the colour combo. Well done.
espo Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 Another beautiful looking build. Great paint finish and the color combination with the interior looks good. I like how you did your hub cap and wheel setup for the flat tire scene.
kelson Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 Looks like a detectives car or FBI type vehicle, looks great though!!.
happy grumpy Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 Great black finish. Nice display set up idea.
Monty Posted January 5, 2022 Posted January 5, 2022 Fantastic black finish! Works well with the red interior. Question: would you mind explaining how you made the seat braces? For some reason I can't get the plastic to follow curves like that.
1972coronet Posted January 5, 2022 Posted January 5, 2022 Beautiful Galaxie , Gareth ! Is this built from the Jolly Green Gass'r [sic] version ?

I couldn't get it to curve all the way around the seat either without wrinkling on the corners so I did it in three parts, top and sides.

Spottedlaurel Posted January 5, 2022 Posted January 5, 2022 Great work Gareth. The straight black paint and hubcaps give it a subtle, formal look.
1959scudetto Posted January 6, 2022 Posted January 6, 2022 Very cool-looking Ford, Gareth - is this a cop car (red light on the roof) ? - Great idea to create a wheel-changing scene !
Foxer Posted January 6, 2022 Posted January 6, 2022 Looking very good! My Dad had a Turquoise 65 that rolled so much on corners I refused to drive it.

Thanks Helmut. Yeah, kind of. I thought it looked very much like an FBI or CIA type car so I just put one of those portable lights on the roof to see how it looked. It works, but would be more convincing if the interior was also black. It's just as dubious as the real thing I guess! Is that FBI or just a regular car? You decide, Lol
