fun9c1 Posted February 18 Posted February 18 Combining Revell's Big Game truck and their Chevy Sport stepside to recreate my buddy's beater GMC stepside that he had in the late '80s when we were in our late teens. Reworking the front suspension as his was a 2WD. In the background of the mock-up is the '71 Skylark I had at the time (which is also in the background of the top pic next to the mock-up), and another buddy's '83 Hurst Olds that he had then, which I am still working on. There will be alot of rust and weathering on the truck! LOL 7

Cool Hand Posted February 28 Posted February 28 Mock with some different wheels, even though they are over scaled I like the look under the HQ's. 6 1

I don't usually look at this thread but I did, and I saw what I thought was a '69 Impala ragtop, a 1:1 from my youth that I would like to model. I've got the AMT '70 kit here somewhere but wondered if a '69 kit exists.. Thanks for your responses, Bil and Steve. 1
Modlbldr Posted March 2 Posted March 2 Bit of a mock up on my latest project "Shades of the 90's". Later- 9

Speedpro Posted March 3 Posted March 3 '66 Chevelle SS with '67 pro sreet chassis. Stretched the rear quarters for the firestone slicks. On going project. 12
BDSchindler Posted March 4 Posted March 4 (edited) Very rough mock-up but so far coming along nicely...so far! Kinda like an illegitimate offspring of a '66 Thunderbird convertible and a '60 Ranchero. The bed is not officially joined to the t-bird yet as I have been trying to get the roof-line from the Ranchero to mate up with the windshield surround of the T-bird. Lots of filler, sanding and repeating the process but you get the jist... I mocked the bed using thin plastic sheet, BurlWood Decals from Uschi Woodgrain Decals. Clearcoated then added the slats via Evergreen plastic strip painted silver and a black marker to replicate the attachment points with Canopy Glue and clearcoated again. Done...setting that aside so I can get to work on the remaining body mods. Here's the inspiration for this build from Kaucher Kustoms... Edited March 4 by BDSchindler 13 1

Thanks Steve, Stretching the wheel openings is not one of the easiest things to do, but worth the effort. Not only does the tire fit better, It makes the car look longer than it really is.

No need to modify the “coupe” interior as the back seat is a carry over from the convertible molds. Thank fer yer comment, in addition to the correct convertible interior the coupe kit also has the correct reinforced convertible chassis. Edited March 8 by Mothersworry 5
bill-e-boy Posted March 7 Posted March 7 My 32 Sedan chassis under a 32 5W coupe I chopped for a friend that has found its way back to me after he passed away last year. The chop was done about 12 years ago. 6
VanGoGo Posted March 8 Posted March 8 Revell 1/12 scale 1969 Camaro Z/28, Its great seeing how much detail this kit has right outta the box, and will be fun adding a lil' more, I'm thinking a slight rake adjustment, yellow with a black vinyl top, and maybe hockey stripes. 3
