iamsuperdan Posted February 26, 2022 Posted February 26, 2022 Well, now that Issue 212 is in subscribers' hands, I can post some more pics of this one. AMT's International CO-4070A. Built it box stock, as a fairly basic fleet spec. Yeah, went with chrome parts, but still wanted that base fleet vibe. Was super surprised at how this kit went together. It did not feel like I was building an AMT kit at all. Parts were crisply molded, every part was numbered, the instructions were clear and precise. I hpe all future AMT kits are like this. The only issue I had was of my own doing. I managed to lose the shifter. Ah well. Need to build a matching trailer for it now. 1
Mopar - D Posted February 26, 2022 Posted February 26, 2022 Awesome looking Transtar Dan. It would look good in outdoor pictures

Mopar - D Posted February 26, 2022 Posted February 26, 2022 I was afraid that was what you were going to come back with lol.
Jim B Posted February 26, 2022 Posted February 26, 2022 Your Transtar looks great. Very well done. What are you thinking for a trailer?
Mopar - D Posted February 26, 2022 Posted February 26, 2022 Dan I received my MCM #212 today and guess what I’m reading about on page 54. 1
TruckerAL Posted February 27, 2022 Posted February 27, 2022 I too just finished reading the article yesterday! Good build there

The AMT Fruehauf 40ft trailer. I have a couple of the Coke ones. Will just need to make a couple of Elsinore Beer decals for the sides.
Toys4Don2 Posted February 27, 2022 Posted February 27, 2022 Very clean looking rig. Can’t wait to see it with a trailer.
Dutzie Posted February 28, 2022 Posted February 28, 2022 Love your build. Just read about it as well!

I built one of the originals 50 years ago and still remember how well it went together.
happy grumpy Posted February 28, 2022 Posted February 28, 2022 Very clean and beautiful build . This is truly a modern kit and it is a pleasure to build. Like you, I am waiting for warmer skies to take outside pictures. That white paint will really pop in the outside sun.
1959scudetto Posted February 28, 2022 Posted February 28, 2022 Very nice build - I imagine myself a white "Bekins Van Lines" tractor.
Bennyg Posted February 28, 2022 Posted February 28, 2022 Very nice work! I wish they altered the way they made the fuel tanks and chrome pipe work. Separate fuel tank ends to get rid of the seam would have been good. Apart from that, probably the best model truck kit currently on the market. Ben.
vincen47 Posted March 2, 2022 Posted March 2, 2022 Nice article in MCM, and a great build. Looking forward to more of your content in the magazine in the future.
