gbdolfans
Hi this plane flew over my house about 10 times tonight. We live about 2 milesfrom the Asheville Regional Airport. Maybe doing touch and goes? any idea what kind it is? Thanks, George
NYLIBUD
10xs?Man that had to be pretty annoying.Looks so low that it could’ve shaken the pictures off the walls.Don’t have any idea what kind it is,just that’s it’s pretty dam large, and low.I would assume it’s military. Is that a usual occurrence living so close to the airport? BlackSheep214
C-17 Globemaster. It's possible they're doing touch and goes.
Lunajammer
Yup. My nephew's wife, while in the USAF was a co-captain of one of these while he flew F-15s.
Snake45
C-17. My son drives 'em. I think he has one in Alaska right now.
Fat Brian
I live near Charlotte and these come and go at the airport all the time, there's an Air National Guard station there. The approach to the airport sometimes brings them over a 4 lane highway just above tree top level. It's pretty wild to drive under a plane that big coming in.

RSchnell
C-17's are amazing aircraft. Near my weekend place they do touch & go's at the AFB fairly often. Here's a couple of my photos of C-17s
stavanzer
Beautiful T-28 Trojan. Got any more pics of that?

I'll look on a thumb drive as I'm sure I still have the photos of the Skyraider somewhere!

I'm not a military aircraft buff, but looking at this photo, the B52's moniker "BUFF" suits this plane much better. At least the G-rated version: Big Ugly Fat Fellow. Snake45
T-28 is Trojan, not Talon.
stavanzer
That Trojan is Cheap! too. Used to be a 50-65K Warbird.

I am a military aircraft "buff" and a big B-52 fan but that BUFF moniker does fit the C-17....maybe a sexy BUFF.😂
GLMFAA1
Sorry, too many T's in my life thinking of the other trainer T-38 Talon. Yes I know the Talon is a jet trainer. Last Trojan I saw they were changing a 'jug' at an air show. greg
stavanzer
No worries, Greg. I was a T-38 crew chief, so I can tell them apart.
