I started with a ’48 Lincoln glue bomb. This must have been build (very poorly) about 50 years ago. I had to take apart every piece including all the body parts.

I decided to remove the single headlights and put in double headlights and remove some of the front bumper to view the cool grill better. I added a ’36 Mercedes straight eight engine (from Rommels Rod), as it fit perfectly. I put some holes in the rear fenders for the exhaust tips, added spoke wheels into the lowered body. I also shortened the windshield and the ragtop roof.

The interior is a mix match of seats and door panels from a ’61 Chevy. The console is from the Red Baron altered to fit between the Impala seats. The speakers and rear panel are scratch-built.

Thanks for looking and I hope you like it.

Dave

You really helped this old mess along nicely. I think it makes a lousy Lincoln, but you've made a VERY attractive Kustom with what you had to start with! I don't think I've ever seen this kit look better. Your color is real knockout, would you mind sharing what paint that is? This is an ex Pyro kit from WAAAY back, and boy does it show when you open the box. Did you notice how the back side of the grille is more appealing than the front side?! I have to grandstand a little bit about this kit, as Lindberg re-released this thing back in the 90s or so right in the midst of their newly tooled kits, and Ibought one thinking it would be similar to their '53 Ford, and I couldn't have been more disappointed. You've restored my faith that something can be salvaged from it after all! VERY well done.

Low and mean, I like it! I almost enjoy throwing leftover parts together from different kits more than stock builds - - - it's so liberating to let your imagination loose!

bisc63 - thank you for the really nice comment!

The paint (after many other colors tested) ended up being Testors Extreme Lacquer rattle can Flaming Orange over a white base.

Talk about a silk purse!  You created a beauty from a dog of a kit, well done.  Almost makes me want to pull mine out......almost.

Great job restyling the body. Could be a prototype for a Pixstar future car movie. I like how you used all the different parts box parts to make such a nice cohesive body design and the paint looks good as well.

Nice.....that's pretty good looking being it was a glue bomb when you got it.  Love those big ol white wall tires.  Great paint job.
