ramblerman Posted April 10, 2022 Posted April 10, 2022 Revell 1970's issue molded in green metallic styrene. I chopped the top and filled the grille opening. I also glued the hood to the fenders then cut the fenders from the body. I intended to make a tilt front end, but decided to leave it as a removable one piece panel. Refinished with Testors Competiton Orange with Pledge Revive clearcoat. 4
rrb124@sbcglobal.net Posted April 10, 2022 Posted April 10, 2022 So clean and sharp. Looking like a real car. Loving the velocity stacks.
Steve H Posted April 10, 2022 Posted April 10, 2022 Hi Jim, nice build. That chop top looks great, and the orange paint is a perfect choice. Cheers, Steve
MADmodelDOCTOR Posted April 10, 2022 Posted April 10, 2022 Really nice job, especially the chop and frontend. i had a green kit wayback. I have a reissue in the shop.

Zippi Posted April 11, 2022 Posted April 11, 2022 Nice job on the Gasser Jim. That Competition Orange is my favorite color. Has a nice stance and the chop turned out great. Nice looking model.

Yes it was, and the chopped body still sits, in primer, in my display case of partially finished projects next to my work desk. Still would like to finish it someday. Jim's project is to a large degree what I've had in my mind for so many years now....TB
ramblerman Posted April 12, 2022 Author Posted April 12, 2022 Thank you to everyone for the positive feedback.
papajohn97 Posted April 12, 2022 Posted April 12, 2022 The body mods, that injected SBC, the colors, the decals, the wheels, the stance, it all just “clicks”. Nice!!!! Your build inspires me to take another crack at this kit which I remember struggling with as a kid
Ace-Garageguy Posted April 15, 2022 Posted April 15, 2022 Liking the chop and the nose. Cool little drag car.
Dennis Lacy Posted July 31, 2022 Posted July 31, 2022 Looks WICKED with the chop and one piece front clip! Also really dig the orange and white color scheme. Very cool!! (That is from the 90’s when I went through all of my dads back issues one summer. I was still in diapers when the article came out! ?)
