slusher Posted April 12, 2022 Posted April 12, 2022 What is the best flesh color for painting figures?
Mark Posted April 12, 2022 Posted April 12, 2022 Depends on the ethnicity! Seriously, check out military colors, there you should find flesh colors for all regions of the world among the military color portfolio... 2
Joe Handley Posted April 12, 2022 Posted April 12, 2022 I went with either Vallejo or Games Workshop when I painted my Wild Willy driver head last summer. 1

peteski Posted April 12, 2022 Posted April 12, 2022 In today's all-encompassing world, there is no single (Caucasian) flesh color. There is a whole range of flesh colors. Not that there is anythign wrong with that. 2
Belugawrx Posted April 12, 2022 Posted April 12, 2022 This is Tamiya Flat Flesh XF-15 as a base, then mix of slightly darker and lighter shades to add shadow and highlights

slusher Posted April 13, 2022 Author Posted April 13, 2022 All the colors confused me that’s why I asked. I guess I am doing 4 Caucasian guys ..
Mark Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 Humbrol still calls theirs "flesh". I bought a tin of it a couple of weeks ago, to do a couple of Deal's Wheels figures... 1
espo Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 I haven't done figures or people's faces, but I did see an article done on this subject. What I found interesting was the way the writer described the different tones and textures he used in painting the subjects face, arms, and hands. This was in a magazine that centered on mainly military subjects that I received instead of the car modeling magazine that I had subscribed too. 1

Personally, when I painted miniatures, I thought their light tan made a more convincing flesh colour. 1 hour ago, espo said: I haven't done figures or people's faces, but I did see an article done on this subject. So the right answer to "What is the best flesh colour paint?" is, there isn't one. Some variation is fine, and normal. Personally, I think you should be very concerned if any part of your body took on the colour of most "flesh" paint. 1

Most of those colors should alert you that you have some very serious health issues.
spencer1984 Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 I'm still experimenting, but right now I'm using a combination of AK Interactive colors and Tamiya's "Weathering Master" G & H sets. 2
