And the Best Of Show winner is.........

This thing is just mind blowing> i was following the WIP and I am at a loss for words.

Thank God you are in Canada and I never have to compete against you at a show . LOL.

No, seriously, this is just outstanding work.

Thanks for the kind comments Michael !!!

I always say beauty is in the eye of the beholder and it seems you like it, I am truly honored.  I am not a globetrotter type and have never been to an exhibition across the border.   Just the thought of the airline losing my luggage (and my models at the same time) gives me nightmares. ?
As for the Best Of Show, there is some serious competition on your side of the border and I doubt my chances... ?

Hey Francis,

I may be late to the party, but the praise is high just the same. You did it Francis! This is such and excellent piece. SO many fantastic details that are put together with a fine touch your work rivals every modeler out there. Congratulations and well done! I hope to see this at a lot of contest tables.

Scott

Thanks Scott !

It was a very long project for me and I know that you are very well placed to understand, you yourself are engaged in a project of the same kind.  It's time to turn the page and prove myself again, the experience I have gained must be put to good use, there are so many potential projects on my shelf but so little time to realize them... ?

Thanks again for coming and don't apologize for being "late to the party", the important thing is that you showed up and I appreciate it ! ?

Thanks for your comment Andy!

The fact that this is an unusual subject and has never been produced by the Styrene kit manufacturers probably helps support your assessment.

I could make a long list of what I'm interested in and a '68 Hemi Barracuda Super Stock would definitely be in the top 5...  I have some ideas in mind for my next build but it's probably too early to make an official announcement...

So many interesting subjects and so little time to realize them... ?

I really don’t have a thing to add to all the praise posted before this comment - but I’m so thankful you shared the process of building this beautiful work of art in such great detail, and shared the finished product with us.

I hope you’re proud of your accomplishment!  Masterful and inspiring work

That is an incredible build. Kudos to you. I've never seen this level of craftsmanship before. Awesome.

Thanks James !

It was a great challenge that I am really proud to have completed.  I made parts that I had long wanted to try to create, I stepped out of my comfort zone and the overall finished product satisfies me.  I am honored that you like it !!!

Thank you Jim, I really appreciate your kind words, it is my greatest reward and it motivates me to continue !!!

You yourself are a very generous guy when it comes to sharing your techniques and experience and I have learned a lot from you so far, one of the good reasons for being on this forum is to share and you do it brilliantly !

This is an absolutely fantastic truck! I watched your WIP thread with amazement. Your patience and attention to details show up in every aspect of this build.

I also really like your Road Runner and GTX builds. Looking forward to seeing what you do next!

Thanks Doyle,  It was a good challenge that I am very happy to have met without too much mental damage.  I have a pretty extensive collection of Mopar family scale models so I probably won't surprise anyone with my next subject.

As I get older I seem to become less and less reckless and my knowledge of the brand pushes me to continue on this road.

My next project should start next fall so come and check it out from time to time, the only other clue I can mention is that it will probably still be in the "Drag Racing" section...! ?

Thanks Roger, I really appreciate your comment !

I tried not to distort the truck too much by keeping as many original details as possible.   I was a bit stuck between nostalgia and my passion for drag cars, the best of both worlds if I may say so !

Francis, I just don't know what to say (what has not been said already) - your model is mindblowing! Though I'm not into drag racing, this is a really outstanding model.

I must admit that I very seldom look into the WIP section, but have looked into yours - for the 1st part, just the body modifications (cab) - awesome !

It is like eating a cake: piece by piece - you must not eat all at once! About 67 pages will take some time to look into, but it is definitely worth it.

I've been out of the loop for a while on all forums for the last couple of months but when I DO come back, I find that you're finished with this beast of a build. I don't know how I can convey to you the fact that I loved each and every page of this build as it was coming together. To say that this end result is a masterpiece would be simply an understatement. Along the way I feel as that I've gained a true friend as well. I'm definitely looking forward to future projects out of you and learning even more from watching you. Hat's off to you bro. You sir.....are da MAN.

Thank you Helmut, I really appreciate your kind words and I must say that your comparison with eating a cake is rather tasty, who doesn't like cake? ?

As you mentioned, there are many different categories and threads on this forum, so it's almost guaranteed to miss many good projects or topics posted all over the site.

However, what surprises and delights me is to see a hobbyist from the other side of the globe commenting on one of my projects thanks to the exposure this site offers to its members !

The beauty of the web is to bring people together and this site does it well !!! ?

Thanks Joe... my friend !

You comment on this project since my very beginnings on this forum and you were the first to send me a PM, I will not forget it soon, I immediately saw in you the passionate person that you really are.

Your comments are always intense, colorful and your passion for the hobby is obvious, I am very happy that this one made us cross our paths !

I have learned many good techniques and tips from all the talented members of this forum and I will try to put these new tools to use in my next build, the pleasure of taking and the satisfaction of sharing! ?

Hi Francis.

I am responding to this thread just to push this back up to the top the list. This project deserves to be at the forefront of this forum for a while. (You already know what I think of this work of art)

Thank you for your good intentions and appreciation of my work Ron!

Unfortunately, whatever the topic is, at some point, it will slowly disappear to the back pages of the forum leaving room for other topics.  I've already received a lot of comments on the WIP thread and I'm going to have to show that I can do something else to deserve the attention of complicated project enthusiasts if I may say so.

There are a lot of ideas brewing in my head and the next season promises to be interesting... I think.

One thing is certain, it will have 4 wheels and an 8 cylinder engine... ?

Amazing!

I’ve studied this beautiful build for months and combed through the WIP thread two or three times. I’ve never commented until now because the only thing I’ve been able to come up with is, “Amazing!” So, I suppose that’ll have to do.

This should be the poster child for craftsmanship in modeling. Again; amazing!

Thanks for the kind words Chris!

This truck was an idea that had been in my head for many years, but I think I found with this build the kind of satisfaction I was looking for in this fantastic hobby.

I don't think I'll be the type to finish a project in less than 2 years, so I'm going to have to choose my next project wisely because it's going to be sitting on my workspace for a long time!

My goal was not to bore people with an endless WIP thread, but to show some of the path I took to create this truck, however I don't know if I'll post as many updates on my next project because it takes so much time.

I am always happy to explain or answer any specific questions a modeler may have if the case arises.

WOW!! That is absolutely incredible! Your details and craftmanship are beyond compare!

Thanks Craig !

In fact, it is always possible to do better but sometimes you have to stop and say to yourself that it is enough, I have to keep some inspiration for the next one! ?

Amazing!! When I look at all the details on your model it's like all the things I've dreamt of doing on my models but thought impossible. Thank you for reminding me that anything is possible. I will be using your WIP for years to come. Again, thanks for sharing. Cheers, David.

Everything about this build is amazing, museum quality even!

There's just too much good stuff going on to really comment on any of it. It's well worth every second of the four years you invested.

Thanks for your kind comments David !

I myself have learned many new techniques and found many good tips on the forum. So I'm honored if my work could inspire you along the way and I hope you will persist in this hobby.  I find a lot of satisfaction in it but you don't have to count your hours, everyone does it in his own way, the goal is to have a good time!

Do not hesitate if you have any questions, it will be a pleasure to help you if I can.
